The original estimate was not changed due to my house having an ancient type of foundation that precluded them from cutting into the cement floor for the tile drains. The alternative was sheeting applied to the walls with a "guttering" type baseboard that collects the water and gravity drains it to the sump pump. " hollow plastic baseboard is installed along the base of basement walls to form a drainage channel that directs water to a sump pump system. "I started this process working with Jason when he came out to give me the original estimate. From the very beginning, he was courteous and took time to listen & answer my questions. We had several issues we were wanting to take care of & I liked the fact that this company was able to do ALL of the work we were needing done. They even helped us get our roof replaced after a wind storm had caused damage -- they took the time to deal with our insurance and get it covered for us. Shelly, in the office took the time to stay in contact with me and was always so friendly. The waterproofing they did needed to happen in multiple locations on our property, the crew worked like a well oiled machine & got it done. Not only do I know it works after a storm came through, we are thrilled with the look & quality. They also reinforced a wall in our garage that had been compromised due to the water issues. This wall is not going anywhere now! The crew has cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis leaving the work area as clean as they found it that morning. I had them do bunch of different work, water service line, had them install a French drain around my home and a retaining wall behind the house. "Overall, it went well, but the price ended up being a lot more than what I expected. But I can see why; they had to get inside of walls and between floors. The clog could not be repaired using the normal methods so we decided to just replace the drain line with PVC. The line that was replaced was almost 60 years old, but I think it was high quality galvanized pipe. But according to my research, even galvanized can rust after that much time. While they were here, they replaced the upstairs bathroom sink, which was also about 60 years old, and did so for a cost lower than what the average additional cost is for replacing a sink. These people always showed up when expected and cleaned up after themselves well. Despite the cost, I think they did well. The problems were fixed and it took 2 days of work. We think that while they were moving a large cabinet in the downstairs bathroom, a light switch on our bathroom wall got damaged. The plate got cracked and switch goes up and down much more easily than it used to (no tension on it). I'll try to fix this myself; Adkins does not know about this. I'm dabbling in learning how to do some of these kind of jobs. All problems we had were fixed; it's just the job turned out to be bigger than expected.. That happens."
