We are a Refrigeration service and instillation company with a specialty in servicing and installing Geothermal Heating and Air Conditioning Systems.

"Joe did the original sale, install (2004), and maintenance. Joe was very knowledgeable about heat pumps and did a nice job with the sale. After a few years it wasn't putting out heat like it did when new. Van's came out quickly and diagnosed a failing compressor. WaterFurnace and Van's replaced it under warranty at NO charge to me. Now Tom owns the business. In Dec of 2021 we had problems with the WF, called at 8:05am in the morning and two techs were at our house in Shawano by 10:30am. Diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Reasonable trip and service call charges. Highly recommend."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

Yes, installing an attic fan can help lower your electric bill—particularly if you live in a hot and humid region. By replacing hot and stuffy air with cooler air, these fans help regulate the temperature in your attic and the rest of your home, taking some of the pressure off of your air conditioner.

It’s not recommended to turn off your breaker box in hopes of saving electricity. Breaker boxes were not designed to constantly be switched on and off. Therefore, turning off breakers unnecessarily can cause costly damage that outnumbers any energy savings. Only flip your breakers if absolutely necessary when troubleshooting an electrical issue.

A home energy audit costs about $420 on average, ranging from about $100 to $2,250 or more. Cost factors include the size of your home, the type of testing, and the thoroughness of the audit. A Level 1 walk-through inspection will cost between $150 and $200 for the auditor to point out inefficiencies in your home. On the other hand, a more thorough Level 3 audit with testing and a detailed report will cost about $900.

Leaving vents open but closing doors in unused rooms will probably not save money on your energy bill. Closed doors prevent the natural flow of air throughout the home, which could reduce the efficiency of the overall HVAC system. They could also restrict airflow into and through the return vents, making the HVAC system less efficient.
