"George is excellent to work with. He was very quick to respond to the initial request and any other communication after that. He was clear, upfront, and reasonably priced. I had several dead ash trees that needed to be removed, while maintaining a large amount of underbrush that’s used as a visual barrier with my neighbors behind me. George was able to work around the underbrush and when finished with the initial cuts, he cut the tree into smaller manageable logs to be used as firewood and stacked them into nice piles as well as stacked all of the branches into manageable piles as well. I will be using him for any future tree cutting needs moving forward and will recommend him to my friends and family and would recommend to anyone looking for this service. No heavy equipment tearing up the yard in my case. Just a dude in a tree clearly enjoying what he does."

Small jobs welcome

"Working with Taylor and Connor was one of my best experiences in dealing with having professionals work at my home. Communications was immediate and efficient. They were respectful, kind and conscientious when cleaning the dirt, algae and lichen from the patio, sidewalks and driveway. They were especially careful to preserve all my flowers and landscaping bordering the cement areas. I’m delighted to now look at my clean cement surfaces! There was an especially challenging area at the bottom of my driveway, which they were able to figure out a process to remove the excess dirt. They far exceeded my expectations and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend them for all of your power washing needs."

"Aaron helped me install a dishwasher from scratch. He was very accommodating and did the job on short notice at a good price. Quality of the workmanship was very good and I would strongly recommend his company to anyone looking for handyman services in the Shawano/Keshena area. I was very pleased with every aspect of this job."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If a tree isn’t pruned, it can inhibit proper growth and fruit production, cause damage to both the tree and your property, and create entry points for pests and diseases. Pruning a tree enhances its stability, appearance, shape, and growth. Pruning trees regularly can also save you money long-term by avoiding overgrown or dangerous dying trees.

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

Generally, no, tree topping isn’t a good technique, and you should avoid using it in most cases. Tree topping may be the only good option to save a tree following severe damage after a storm, but in most other cases, it’s not the right choice. Tree topping can leave trees vulnerable to disease and further damage, and most pros will suggest against it.

Palm trees aren’t much different than your typical tree removal. Removing a palm tree is a standard procedure as long as pros have the proper tools and supplies. For DIYers, however, there are some risks associated with palm tree removal. Palm trees have spiky fronds, bark, and patches of hefty wood. So, it’s best to let an experienced tree service pro remove a palm tree.
