"George is excellent to work with. He was very quick to respond to the initial request and any other communication after that. He was clear, upfront, and reasonably priced. I had several dead ash trees that needed to be removed, while maintaining a large amount of underbrush that’s used as a visual barrier with my neighbors behind me. George was able to work around the underbrush and when finished with the initial cuts, he cut the tree into smaller manageable logs to be used as firewood and stacked them into nice piles as well as stacked all of the branches into manageable piles as well. I will be using him for any future tree cutting needs moving forward and will recommend him to my friends and family and would recommend to anyone looking for this service. No heavy equipment tearing up the yard in my case. Just a dude in a tree clearly enjoying what he does."

Small jobs welcome

"Working with Taylor and Connor was one of my best experiences in dealing with having professionals work at my home. Communications was immediate and efficient. They were respectful, kind and conscientious when cleaning the dirt, algae and lichen from the patio, sidewalks and driveway. They were especially careful to preserve all my flowers and landscaping bordering the cement areas. I’m delighted to now look at my clean cement surfaces! There was an especially challenging area at the bottom of my driveway, which they were able to figure out a process to remove the excess dirt. They far exceeded my expectations and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend them for all of your power washing needs."

"Aaron helped me install a dishwasher from scratch. He was very accommodating and did the job on short notice at a good price. Quality of the workmanship was very good and I would strongly recommend his company to anyone looking for handyman services in the Shawano/Keshena area. I was very pleased with every aspect of this job."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Peach trees grow to be about 25 feet, so keep this in mind for pruning as well. If you plan to DIY, you’ll need to be comfortable working on a ladder. Without pruning, peach tree branches can sprawl nearly as wide as the tree grows tall, so make sure to plan pruning sessions at least once per year in the spring for controlled growth. And if you’re working on a ladder, be sure to follow all safety precautions, especially if you’ll be dealing with falling branches.

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

Generally, you’ll want to avoid pruning more than 25% of the tree’s canopy at one time. While pruning your tree is important, it’s possible to do it too often or to go too far. Again, this is why hiring a tree trimming pro to do the work is wise. However, if you do decide to DIY, going slow and trimming gradually is the name of the game.

Horticulturist is a broad term for any type of plant and soil expert. An arborist, meanwhile, specializes in all aspects of tree care. You should hire an arborist when you need assistance with tree-related tasks, such as pruning large trees, removing trees, diagnosing a sick tree, or emergency tree services. Horticulturists aren’t qualified to handle those types of tasks.

A tree can split because of high winds, a change in temperature, or from an infestation or tree disease. All of these factors can overlap, making a single cause difficult to pinpoint. While winter storms are some of the most common causes for a tree to split, it can also happen because of termites or rot.
