Small jobs welcome

"I had an excellent experience with this garbage removal company. They emptied two sheds, carefully separated items we wanted to keep, and moved everything else to the curb for removal. One of the sheds had been destroyed by a fallen tree, and they handled the cleanup efficiently and with great care. They arrived on time, were professional, kind, and hardworking, and made a stressful situation so much easier. Everything was done quickly and respectfully, with clear communication throughout the process. I truly appreciated their attention to detail and positive attitude. I highly recommend them to anyone needing reliable, courteous, and thorough junk or debris removal."

"Perfect service! I would recommend this Company to anyone without one shred of hesitation! They communicated when they were going to arrive well and got all of our boxes and sofa out in a snap. The cost was very reasonable as well, considering their drive time. Will definitely be calling again for help!"

"We had a very messy moving situation and Al's went above and beyond our expectations. They professionally removed all the big furniture items (tables, beds, sofas, etc.) and even helped to clear random junk from the house and load a dumpster. All team members were courteous, clean and professional. Al's really helped us out of a jam and even worked on a Sunday! I would definitely use Al's again.

"I called the service because I had some old gross stuff left behind in the basement. I wasn't sure how it would go, but I needed to have it OUT. So I made an appointment for a Saturday morning. The company called to comfirm and then called to let me know they should be at my home shortly, because the weather had changed to heavy rain. I can not say enough!! They came I pointed to the stuff, they removed it all. The two man where polite and about their business no fooling around. So after that job, I called them again, and once again, I called, they came over I pointed to the stuff and they removed it. I loved it.

"Hired Moving APT to pack my whole house on one day and move me into my new home the next. They did a great job and I felt completely taken care of. Have furniture and other items in storage still and will be using them to move that remaining into my home. I highly recommend them."

Garbage Removal questions, answered by experts

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.

Garbage disposals are durable appliances that usually last at least eight years as long as you clean and maintain them. It’s relatively rare for a garbage disposal to break on its own, as most malfunctions happen due to user errors, like overstuffing the grinding compartment or damaging the blades by trying to dispose of metal or bone. Eventually, cracks or leaks could develop in the unit, which requires a full replacement.

The most common garbage disposal size in the U.S. is 1/2 horsepower. This size is ideal for households with three or fewer people or those that don't produce much food waste. Although 1/2 horsepower can't handle the typical food waste load for a household of four (which is about 250 pounds of food waste annually) as effectively as 3/4 horsepower, it remains the most common size of garbage disposal on the market.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.
