"The plumber came when he said he would and did a good job fixing my toilet and faucet. The cost of the toilet repair was reasonable, but I was surprised how much the faucet leak cost. It was $170 to replace two valve cartridges, which took about 15 minutes total. I thought that was high. But at least the faucet is fixed now and the job got done promptly."

"Very bad. They told me it was $200 an hour for coming on a Saturday (Emergency basis). They did not tell me about other charges. The invoice read as: labor: $232 When it was supposed to be $200; materiales $2:10 there was not materials used, truck charges $36 Truck charges??? Subtotal $270 Plus tax 13.51 total 283.61. I think it would be nice to tell me in advance of all those extra charges. Took me by surprise all the charges and it tooK the person 5 minutes to fix the issue."

Homeowners insurance usually doesn’t cover sewer backups because it’s typically an avoidable problem with proper maintenance. The only exception would be if the backup is occurring because of local flooding and only if your city uses a combined drainage system for stormwater and sewage. Some experts estimate that descaling your cast iron pipes can extend their lifetime by upwards of 50 years, although there’s not a lot of research to prove it. With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

Some of the most common plumbing problems in mobile homes are frozen pipes, leaking pipes, clogged drains, and low pressure. Since the pipes in a mobile home aren’t as insulated as those in a standard build, they’re more susceptible to fluctuating temperatures and damage. 

Ideally, you might find that you only need to clean the sewer line or remove a clog from the main line. That costs $200 to $300. However, “sewer main clogs can cost upwards of $1,000 to clear, depending on what is causing the clog, distance from accessible cleanouts to the clog, and whether there is occupied space below the clogged line (apartment buildings, condos, etc.),” says Botelho.
