"Mike, performs high quality work.. He's an excellent carpenter with skills in other areas as well. He's installed large windows, doors, counter tops, bathroom shower tiles and floors, fireplace tiling, siding repair, kitchen island renovation etc. We've found that he's very dependable, easy to work with and takes great pride in the work he performs. We'd highly recommend Mike for any home construction projects."

"Ben demonstrates a long , lost trait of providing excellent service with a solid background of property management which has lent him knowledge in a wide variety of categories. Ben is the handyman I have been looking for since 2000. One call and he takes care of your projects. Ben not only has a keen eye, but also solutions. I hired Ben to remove and install a new toilet, address plumbing issues related to the bathroom shower and counter faucet. He also removed old caulk and laid down new caulk. He will come back and install a new drop ceiling as well as change out the lighting. In the spring, I will have him back to address drafty doors. Ben is the best ~ I have found my MacGyver Handyman!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Building a pool yourself will take at least eight to 12 weeks. After all, this is the building timeline after hiring a pool contractor who knows how to draw up plans, analyze your landscape, and apply for proper permits. If you choose to tackle any part of the process alone, assume building a pool will take two to three months at a minimum.

Some pool professionals recommend adding an extra layer of comfort and protection between your pool and the vinyl liner. Made from a range of plastic blends, these liners can absorb moisture, allow the pool liner to breathe, and act as an extra barrier for pests, burrowing animals, and mildew. They also provide an extra layer of comfort for swimmers.

You don’t need to drain the whole pool to patch a pool liner, but be prepared to dive in with your swimsuit and goggles to patch a leak below the water level. By draining the pool, you can actually expose the liner to more harsh conditions, like wind and sunlight, that cause the tears to worsen. It’s best to use the ink test and waterproof patches or tape to identify the leak and patch it up.

It’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after opening your pool before you swim in it. Pool opening often involves shocking the water, and the chemical levels need to come down a bit before it’s safe to swim. You can continue testing your water pH and chlorine levels if you’re in a rush. It’s wise to wait until your chlorine levels drop to under four parts per million (ppm) and you have a water pH of between 7.2 and 7.8. You can artificially lower your water pH to speed up the process.

While you can install an above ground pool on most level surfaces, you’ll need sand to protect your liner from tearing. For example, rocks, plants, and twigs can take a toll on your liner. Adding sand will help level the pool even more. For additional support, you can also use angled foam or a foam pool cove.
