I did not hear from anyone so after 3 days I called but no one returned my call. Called back again a week later to cancel the order. He connected me to a local manager who set up an install date a week later. The installers were polite and professional. Gave me some helpful advise. Job was completed in less than a day. If your toilet won’t stop running, you might have a bad fill valve. This may be the case if the valve has calcium or debris buildup, is cracked, or shows visible signs of wear and tear. The chain might not have the right tension. For example, a chain that’s too short can make the handle feel stuck. Check that there’s some slack in the chain. Old, worn-out flappers can get stuck, too. In this case, you’ll need to see which size toilet flapper you need.

It takes a plumber about two to four hours to remove an old toilet and install a new one. This time increases if the pro finds something unusual during the installation, such as damaged flooring, leaky pipes, or a broken wax ring. Some toilets can take longer to install, like wall-mounted toilets or in-wall-tank toilets, which require your professional to cut into your drywall and repair the area afterward.

The cost of making a bathroom accessible can be $3,000 to $25,000, but you could spend as much as $50,000 building a brand-new ADA-compliant bathroom. Some bathroom accessibility upgrades to consider include:

You definitely can over-tighten toilet tank bolts. Unlike some other materials, porcelain can’t bend or flex, so when you over-tighten a screw into it, it could break against the added pressure. Only tighten them as much as needed to keep them in place and firm; any more and you could risk breaking the porcelain.
