"Professional hard working company. They truly enjoy their work and they go above and beyond. We needed several trees trimmed to get ready for a new shed and they did the job beyond our expectations. They did more than we asked of them, cleaned everything up when they were done and we couldn’t be happier with the end results. I encourage anyone looking for tree services to call them! They don’t over charge and they do an excellent job!! Thank you Cherry Tree Service"

"Moved to Beaver Dam during summer of 2020 and hired Fiddlers to do snow removal. I have been very impressed with their great service. They are here quickly after a snowfall and my corner sidewalks and driveway are cleared perfectly. They also do my front porch, steps, and walkway. I can definitely recommend them."

"Exceeding their customer's expectations was their # 1 goal. Very efficient work, a challenge to take down two trees next to some power lines. Lots of engineering involved. Clean up was outstanding. They even cleaned the roof of m neighbor's garage! Calling them back for some additional work!"

"I personally dealt with Jaret. I contacted him and he made time to come out almost immediately to meet with me. He was very professional, got back to me that evening with a quote. I hired him and his company to do my landscaping around the house, and they did a wonderful job. Complete sense of urgency and worked clean. I will definitely reach out to them again in the future!"

"I hired Wally's Landscaping for two reasons, interviewing him and price. I felt he was honest and an ambitious young man. I was right on my intuition. Wally cleaned up my yard of leaves, picked up old and torn landscape fabric, sprayed weed killer on all the weeds, and spread down mulch on garden around my house and boathouse. I was very satisfied with his work. He kept informed on when he was coming and answered all my questions. I'm happy I hired him."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Talking with a septic pro before planting trees near your tank is best to ensure the roots won’t interfere with your septic system. However, there is an easy way to figure out where to plant a tree—but you’ll need to know how tall it can get when it’s fully grown. For instance, if the tree can reach 50 feet, plant it at least 50 feet from your septic system.

The best time to cut down a tree is during its dormant season, typically in winter or early spring, after all the leaves have fallen. Removing a tree during this period is advantageous for several reasons. Frozen ground helps secure the tree stump, protects the surrounding landscape from damage, and reduces the risk of the tree falling in an unintended direction. With the leaves gone, there is less risk of the tree's foliage getting tangled with other trees. Additionally, since this is often a slower season for tree services, you may be able to hire a professional at a lower rate. This dormant period is also the best time for tree trimming.

If you’re taking down a tree that you don’t suspect is affected by disease or pests and it’s nowhere near your home or other structures, then calling in a tree company should work fine. However, anything more involved means an arborist is a better option. These pros have years of experience with tree removal and can safely take down trees located next to structures, and they have the tools, sanitization equipment, and experience to remove sick or dying trees without infecting nearby trees.

Some trees, such as silver maples, birches, sycamores, and scotch pines, shed their bark naturally. If your tree is not one that does this, it might have fallen prey to pests, fungi, or diseases. It could also simply be suffering from an extreme weather change, such as a snowstorm or heat wave. If you’re still stumped, consulting with a pro can help you diagnose your tree’s specific problem.

If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. However, effective transplanting requires six months, careful root pruning, safe transport to the new location, and replanting in prime soil conditions. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.
