Small jobs welcome

"I hired John to work on my deck. He came and measured, sanded, and stained it in a timely manner. He even went and got all the supplies and brought different paint samples to choose from. The deck looks fantastic. He did such a good job that I hired him 2 more times. Once to fix the fan in my daughter’s bathroom and an electrical circuit that kept going out. He fixed both issues perfectly!! I would highly recommend John for any job you have at your home!!"

"Mike did a great job! He quoted a price, we quickly scheduled a date. He confirmed the appointment and arrived at the scheduled time. The job was to assemble on office desk. He efficiently completed the job, and was both friendly and professional. He cleaned up the area after completing there job. We were very impressed and would hire him again for other handyman jobs!"

"We were very pleased with the caulking and painting work Alex recently did for us. The caulking work was near perfect, and the thorough prep work before painting was notable. He went out of his way to guarantee our satisfaction with our painting project. We have no reservations recommending Alex and would hire him again."

"Mike and his crew were fabulous to work with! They did an excellent job! It turned out that I actually had a different type of ceiling than what I originally thought I had. Mike went above and beyond to get the job done, perfectly. I highly recommend MAE Contracting!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Off-season pool-building prices often align with the time of year you're least likely to use a pool. Many contractors offer deals in the late fall and winter to bolster the slow time of year. However, if you live in an area with freezing winters, you'll need to wait beyond the final frost and threats of extreme weather.

Most importantly, you should never cut corners when building a pool. Whether it’s an in-ground or aboveground, poorly constructed pools are dangerous to both the swimmers and your property. Leaks can even lead to home foundation damage. While you can DIY smaller elements of pool installation, always hire a contractor to oversee the process.

DIY is not recommended due to its complexity. Professional installation ensures proper fitting and longevity.

Yes, swimming in a pool with high calcium hardness is considered safe as long as you have sufficient chlorine and pH levels to keep bacteria growth under control. The main issue with high calcium hardness is that it damages your pool through rust and corrosion. However, if your water is hard enough to corrode your pool, you might want to consider finding methods to make it safe for drinking at home.

A good rule of thumb is to add one or two 40-pound bags of salt for every inch of rain, but you’ll want to test your salt levels first to ensure you’re adding the right amount. Rainwater can dilute the salt levels in your pool, so after significant rainfall, test the levels and add the appropriate amount of salt to bring it back to the ideal level.
