"The staff seem to be really good and professional people. The reason for my 2-star rating is that the work done simply didn't deliver on expectations of durability. There are sections of my driveway where nearly all of the seal coating came off in less than 9 months, so I am going to have to re-do the job myself. This is not what I had in mind when I paid over $1,100 (a fair price, if it would have lasted longer). I understand that the work isn't covered anymore, as I didn't report it until the thaw revealed so much was missing, and I'm not upset with Merit or their staff. Unlike poured concrete or asphalt, pavers typically have a layer of gravel underneath to prevent water runoff from damaging your property—though you can also lay pavers on grass. Because pavers are installed piece by piece, you can customize a one-of-a-kind hardscape that best suits your aesthetics, boosting your curb appeal along the way.

Three inches is a great thickness for a residential asphalt driveway that sees minimal to moderate traffic from cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks. However, a thicker driveway can better withstand the weight of a heavier vehicle, such as a trailer or a recreational vehicle. If you drive a heavy vehicle on a thin driveway, you risk cracking and damaging it.

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting.
