"A & B Coatings installed a flake floor system in our finished basement and it turned out so great we asked them to install matching flooring on the stairs of our open staircase. They answered our questions and were very responsive. Their service and communication was great. The floor system looks really nice â we love it and weâ ve gotten a lot of compliments on it. Some perks about this type of flooring: (1) The stairs have a great no-slip texture. (2) It looks much better than a plain epoxy or paint finish and easily as nice as the carpet we had previously. (3) The flake flooring in our basement is much warmer than I expected; certainly warmer than the ceramic tile we have in the bathroom. (4) Itâ s easy to take care of and the pattern in the flake doesnâ t show dust/dirt easily. (5) We quoted new carpet for other bedrooms in our house and that confirmed the pricing on the flake flooring system is reasonable, especially considering the durability of this flooring vs. carpet. Shadowbox fence maintenance depends on the material. But for wood shadowbox fences, maintenance typically includes annual cleaning to prevent mold growth, resealing or staining every two to three years, and promptly replacing any damaged or rotted boards. Vinyl fencing, on the other hand, typically only requires annual cleaning with a hose to maintain its appearance.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

If you want to achieve a deeper, darker stain color, wait 5 to 10 minutes before wiping it off. However, wipe it off faster for a lighter tone. When wiping off the stain during this part of the process, be sure to work in the direction of the wood’s grain for best results.

Typically, you need one to two coats of stain for a fence. The number of coats you need can vary depending on the porosity of the type of wood. You can also apply an extra coat of stain if you want the color to look more saturated or to cover lap marks and patchy spots.

Maintain your wattle fence by inspecting it at least twice per year for loose weaving and degrading branches. Replace any seriously degraded sections, ensure water drains properly around the posts, and trim any sprouting branches if you used green wood. If you notice the weave loosening, you can often tighten it by gently pushing down on the top branches. You can also apply a natural wood preservative every two to three years to extend the fence's lifespan.
