Small jobs welcome

"I had to have my carpet removed from my apartment. She did the work I asked her to. She removed the rug, put the furniture back, took the rug out to the dumpster, and cleaned up everything. I was very impressed with her work. It looked so much better after she had it done."

"The company was very professional and they worked with me to include the project within my construction financing, which was very helpful. I changed the date of the appointment several times and they were very accommodating. The tub and sink look like new. I would suggest though that you have them come in prior to doing your final renovation as we had to remove the grout around the sink to ensure full coverage of the sink.  This had nothing to do with them. I just had my steps in my bathroom renovation out of order.

"Mr. Sullivan brought an assistant and they cleaned our Appleton 2-story Victorian home's gutters and repaired a spot damaged by an ice dam in last year's severe winter. They were pleasant and professional. I would recommend them for this work and will be calling them soon for another gutter cleaning.

"The gentelman who did the cleaning measured up my sq. footage and provded an estimate.  Asked if Iwould also like to have the carpeting scotch guarded (explained benifits, etc.) but did not pressure me into purchasing. The job was completed very professionally and and my carpeting looked fantastic. My carpeting is 15 years old and when the cleaning was completed it looked like new. I was provided a small bottle of solution to use in case I get any hard to remove stains. The drying time took longer than I expected...about 24 hours. I would have Fox Valley Cleaners come again in a heart beat.  I recommeded them to a friend who recently used them and they too were amazed at the fantastic job that they did.

"I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service and everything was fine. All we did was get a room design and she did not come to our home. My husband went online and dealt with her that way. She sent us a plan for room design and suggested the colors, materials and stuff like that. She did it on her own and we only dealt with them one time."

"After looking for 1 year for a contractor, we looked at Angi. We were connected with Antonio of A&M General Construction, and we walked around the house explaining what we wanted. As we explained our plans, he asked questions but never said we won't be able to do that or change our minds to do something we didn't want. We had them remove four windows and replace 3 of them them were able to get exactly the windows we wanted. Took out two walls and opened up the room. Opened a walkway into the bathroom. Moved an intake vent. Painted, layed tile, converted bathtub into shower. We were very happy with the results. My wife loves her new master bedroom."

Repair Bathroom Tile questions, answered by experts

The decision between wainscoting and shiplap for your bathroom will depend on the end result you’re looking for. Shiplap covers the entire wall and can be used on ceilings. Wainscoting is installed on the lower third of the wall and acts as an accent. One major consideration is that shiplap has rabbets that create space between the boards where moisture and dust can hide. Since bathrooms are a high-moisture environment, you may want to opt for wainscotting.

Yes, you can put wallpaper in a bathroom, but whether it's a good idea depends on several factors. Because bathrooms are high-humidity areas, it's crucial to choose a water-resistant wallpaper, such as one made of vinyl. Proper wall preparation is also critical to ensure the paper adheres well, even after many steamy showers. The wallpaper's placement also affects its longevity; it will hold up better on an accent wall or away from direct water contact, rather than immediately next to a shower. A well-ventilated bathroom will yield the best results.

The impact of a walk-in tub on home value depends on various factors, including market demand, demographic preferences, and overall home features. While some buyers may view it as a desirable accessibility feature, others might see it as a niche amenity, potentially limiting the pool of interested buyers. However, it could add value if the walk-in tub meets specific needs or enhances the property's appeal to a target demographic. Ultimately, its effect on home value varies case by case, with factors like installation quality, design, and neighborhood trends playing roles in determining its impact.

The toilet should rest 10, 12, or 14 inches from the back wall. As for other clearances, 15 inches is the minimum distance from the flange to any side wall or nearby fixture, including the shower, tub, and sink. Modern codes also require at least 24 inches of clear space in front of the toilet.

Start by gutting the old fixtures and features that need to be removed, such as the tile, vanity, and flooring. You may benefit by removing the toilet, even if you intend to use the same one. Next, install the new shower or tub, followed by the flooring, and then the drywall, which you should then paint. After that, install your new cabinets, vanity, countertop, sink, and faucet, in that order. Replace your light fixture next. Lastly, reconnect the toilet.
