"I am a local elected official with a reputation for integrity, and I can confidently say this 1000% happened on Friday, January 24, 2025. Zero stars. This company is extremely shady. Jose, the co-owner, came out to repair some ceiling drywall but then claimed that a recently replaced pipe had broken as he was doing the drywall. This was an outright lie—he couldn’t even keep a straight face while trying to justify charging me more money to fix an issue he caused! Stay away from this company. They may be more “affordable” but it will cost you more when they claim there are other issues! His wife the “CEO” will probably come on this review and try to explain things always—but don’t buy it for a second. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

It can take a professional anywhere between several hours and a full day to remove wallpaper in one room. How long wallpaper removal takes depends on the type of adhesive, the wallpaper’s age, the condition of the walls, and more.

We don’t recommend wallpapering over older paper. That’s because creating layers of glue can invite bubbling or excess moisture on the wall’s surface. You should also prime your wall before applying wallpaper and smooth the wall as much as you can, and another layer of wallpaper complicates this process.

Most experts would not recommend hanging wallpaper over existing wallpaper more than twice. Even if the walls are in good condition and primed well, that third layer of wallpaper could cause problems with adhesion. Unless you like bubbling paint and peeling wallpaper as an interior design choice, it’s better to remove at least one existing layer before adding any more to a wall.

Many peel-and-stick wallpapers aren’t moisture-resistant, so if you install them in high-humidity rooms, mold can grow behind the wallpaper. It’s best to reserve peel-and-stick wallpaper for bedrooms, living rooms, and other rooms with lower humidity levels. Not only does this minimize the risk of mold growth, but it also keeps the wallpaper from bubbling or peeling.
