"They went above and beyond for our project. They did exactly what we wanted and more. They even went as far as helping get some debris moved for us while they had their equipment out here. They built us these two beautiful rock retaining walls with ramps down the center and even went above and beyond by adding gravel to the second/third tier when I had mentioned I wanted to do it in the future. Their pricing was fair and they even helped out my mother in law to do some work. *If I could post a photo I would, but the file size is too large*"

"While I did not hire this company ultimately, I remained very impressed that they came to the site fully prepared (they did a ton of research on my property) and were ready to go day one had we chosen to go with them. In the end, we only decided to go with another contractor due to their existing familiarity with the current neighborhood we were in however, Empirevue are a top notch professional company judging by our initial interaction and I will be reaching out to them again for our other projects"

"The guys were all wonderful and very friendly and helpful. They took down my unsafe and very old deck along with a caved in shed and built me a new, bigger, safer and beautiful one! Can’t wait to get some furniture out there and enjoy the amazing view it offers."

"Advance Hardscapes LLC did an excellent job on my retaining wall. From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. The quality of their workmanship really shows—the wall is solid, well-built, and looks great. They paid close attention to detail, stayed on schedule, and made sure everything was done right. I’m very happy with the final result and would highly recommend Advance Hardscapes LLC to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality hardscape work."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Professional installers often include a deep layer of crushed gravel under permeable pavers to allow more runoff to soak through into the soil below. Many installations will include multiple layers of gravel, with coarser aggregate at the base and finer aggregate that sits on top of that bottom layer. Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.

Generally, a trenchless sewer line is worth the cost. If your old system needs replacement, trenchless sewer repair or replacement can save you thousands on excavation costs. Every homeowner’s situation is different, but this method is definitely worth it in a lot of cases.

You should dig 3 to 6 inches deep for plastic edging. Dig as wide as you need to fit your plastic edging into it—2 inches is usually sufficient.

No, fire blight does not survive free in the soil but instead is carried through insects, animals, rain, or wind during the spring. Keep in mind that it can also spread on tools, which is why you should always disinfect them in between cuts.

The best method for digging a trench depends on the scope of the project. For a short, shallow trench (less than 2 feet deep) in light, soft soil, digging by hand may be sufficient. However, digging by hand is labor-intensive, so consider the effort required. A machine trencher is the better option for longer trenches (over 100 feet), deeper ones, or when dealing with difficult soil conditions, such as rocky or hard ground, or obstructions like tree roots. A machine can save significant time and energy in these situations.
