"After purchasing a gas dryer at Sears to replace our old one, we were informed that Sears couldn't install it when it was delivered. We were fortunate to get ahold of 1st Response Plumbing; they came when they said they would and easily did the work that Sears couldn't. Derrick was great; we were really happy with the work he did and it was very reasonable as well. We will definitely use them again."

"Fantastic. There was excellent communication and Eric showed up when promised. He did everything from replacing roof vents, washing windows, painting walls, hanging new doors and base and window trim, to tearing out old flooring and installing a whole house of flooring, including stairs. I had him back for more help and he hauled away trash and old furniture.. I highly recommend this company."

The construction stage is almost always the longest part of building a house. The difference between a pole barn and a stick-built barn is in the construction. Large poles in the ground provide support for pole barns. For stick-built barns, 2-by-4 or 2-by-6 lumber (known as sticks) create a frame around load-bearing beams. Stick-built construction is far more popular for residential homes. Pole barns are more cost-effective because they require fewer materials and less labor.

While prices fluctuate because of increased demand, fewer supplies, and engineering time, OSB generally remains more affordable than plywood at $1 to $2.40 per square foot compared to the $4.50 to $10 for plywood. Cost is only one factor you should consider when deciding between OSB and plywood.

Concrete blocks are the cheapest way to base a shed. However, the space in between allows critters to go under, burrow, and even damage your shed’s frame. For a more pest-proof option, consider building a shed base with gravel or paver stones. Both options are fairly affordable and easy enough for a DIY project. For gravel, you can build a wooden frame to contain the loose material.
