"Ed did a great job cleaning off my steep pitch roof and gutters. He also did a very tidy job of cleaning up the debris that was blown to the ground. He went the extra mile and did more work than was stated in his bid by cleaning off the clear plastic roof that covers my deck. I realized very quickly that Ed is a professional who knows what he is doing because he has done the same hands of work himself. What impressed me most about Ed is that he cares about his employees. If an employer takes care of his employees you know that he will take care of his customers. You can take that to the bank."

"Fair and quick quote, fast but excellent quality work. Very clean work to keep our house clean, helped with design of scope to ensure best project satisfaction, came with me when I was buying tiles to help me carry them and use his discount, prompt and trustworthy to leave alone in house. Auland even did extra work when I changed the scope last minute."

"Chris is very friendly and professional, he did an amazing job painting all our house. He is a very good painter and I would have him again painting our house if we need it in the future. I would definitely recommend him . He left the house clean after the painting was done . If you are looking for a painter do not look any further, get Chris you will not regret it."

Small jobs welcome

"I can't say enough about how happy I am with their service. What was to be a repair ended up being a replacement for two sides of the yard. I originally thought only one section was "falling". After meeting with Sean, we discovered (jointly) that the entire thing was connected and was going to fall at some time in the future. So we replaced it instead of "jerry-rigging" it. After the work was done, all of the mess was cleaned up - in fact he did more than he needed to do. Sean was also great because he LISTENED! A lot of servicepeople/contractors don't. I recommend him highly."

"They quickly assessed the situation, gave a reasonable quote, and were very proficient and professional. My condo unit was under contract and a water leak caused by another unit needed to be repaired asap and they did it. Also kept me well informed."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, and in some cases, frozen ground may improve the digging process for footings due to sturdier conditions. It’s easier than working in muddy conditions, which are more common in the spring. Contractors may use machinery that makes this step a breeze, so harder ground shouldn’t affect the building process.

Deck boards should be spaced no more than three-eighths of an inch apart. This is enough space to allow water and small debris to pass through without collecting on the surface, but not enough to create a tripping hazard. Certain materials, like pressure-treated wood, shrink over time, so they may need less space at installation.

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.

Both composite and PVC decking are excellent alternatives to wood. However, while composite is moderately priced and lasts around 30 years, PVC costs more and lasts longer. PVC is also more durable, though both materials are more durable than wood decking. Ultimately, the choice between composite and PVC decking will come down to your budget and preferences.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.
