"Alpine Siding recently finished completely residing (that is a big job) and trimming out details on our Ferndale, WA house. Their work plans and cost estimates were clear and complete. The workmen are craftsmen with attention to detail and the ability to accomplish a complex job. They are really good. The work and worksite were organized throughout the project and buttoned up and cleaned up at the conclusion of each day which is important since the work was done in late winter (snow, rain, wind -- they worked around it all). When they finished with the siding, we had a new house. With a little bit of painting left (have to dodge some more rain...), we are very pleased, and highly recommend Veto, Andrey and crew. Yes, we did this for ourselves. But someday, there will be another and maybe another family after them, and they will appreciate the pre-painted James Hardie siding and trim, multi-decade warranty and skill of those who made it happen."

Latex paint is one of the best paint types for textured walls. This water-based paint is fast-drying and has low volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making it safer and more convenient for painting walls that require several coats of paint. 

If you’re painting exterior walls, you can also consider using oil-based paint, but keep in mind that it takes much longer to dry and can slow your project down considerably.

How long painted tiles last ultimately comes down to the quality of the paint job and how much wear and tear the tiles get. It’s possible the paint job will only last about six months if the tiles are in a high-traffic area and they weren’t properly cleaned, sanded, and primed prior to painting and sealing. Well-painted tiles in a low-traffic area should last at least a year.

You technically can paint wires in a basement ceiling, but there are several important safety and code considerations. It's safe to paint non-metallic sheathed cable as long as the labeling remains visible. You can also paint low-voltage wires and conduit and junction boxes to help them blend into your basement.
