"Elias Contruction provided a detailed estimate after inspecting the roof and making some qualified recommendations. The project required a few change orders that were not clarified in writing. I would recommend hiring Elias if you get changes in writing. They cleaned up pretty well although they missed a few things due to finishing in the dark. Overall satisfied with the job and cost was 60% of other bids due to sheathing adjustment."

Flawless work, done by friendly guys who cleaned up the area at the end of the day and made the job as painless as possible. Great attention to detail, and they went above and beyond my expectations getting every room ready and put back together again, including removing and replacing blinds, drapes, and even a dog gate! I would hire this team again, and did line them up to do exterior work in the spring of 2019. This was the middle bid of 3 I obtained back in February, but Gary has wonderful references and a great attitude, so we went with him. I'm really glad we did."

While no-VOC paints don’t contain the chemical compounds that are toxic when they’re outgassed, they can still have an odor. This is because odors can come from other chemicals in the paint that aren’t classified as VOCs. Again, ventilation is key, especially if you plan to sleep in the room on the same day as you paint.

You can paint over drywall mud about 24 hours after application, but the exact timing depends on factors like humidity, temperature, and the thickness of the mud. For the best results, ensure the mud is completely dry to the touch and has changed from a darker gray to a lighter, chalky white. Don’t forget to sand and prime the drywall surface before you paint to create a smooth, even finish.

The number of paint coats you should apply varies by project, but many jobs call for two coats of paint. Make sure you let the first coat fully dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions before applying that second coat. Luckily, paint from a sprayer dries rather quickly due to the nature of the fine mist created by the sprayer.

Paint your accent wall last after painting the other walls in the room. This will prevent color bleed and splatter from the adjacent walls. Be sure to give your other walls plenty of time to fully dry and cure before painting your accent wall—you don’t want the tape to pull off fresh paint when you remove it.

It’s fine to paint over acrylic paint with latex paint as long as the surface is properly prepped. If your paint surface isn’t glossy, you should be able to apply your paint or primer directly to it.
