First off, take a breath. The good news is that interior paint, especially when used outside, won’t harm your health. The bad news is that you’re going to have to reapply the proper exterior paint at some point in the not-so-distant future. Otherwise the current coat will chip, crack, and fade, or worse, develop mold or an insect infestation without remediation.

Learning how to apply an orange peel texture is similar to adding a knockdown texture. You can use a spray gun or a roller to apply the drywall texture and then use various blending techniques to create the desired orange peel look. Adding this texture could be a DIY job, but it also can be extremely messy, so best to leave it to a professional.

When a window is painted shut, this means that paint has gotten into the cracks when window sashes or window frames were being painted. For larger areas, like painting walls, a roller is the best option for applying eggshell paint. Rollers are made to hold more paint and spread it evenly and efficiently over your wall. A roller will be faster and give you a more even coat than a brush for painting walls and ceilings, and it will avoid the visible texture you’d get from brushstrokes for a clean finish. For smaller areas, like trim, a brush will work so long as you remember to paint with the grain of the wood.
