"Hired Thompson Roof a couple of weeks ago to power wash our metal roof, back patio and clean our skylights. Tim went above and beyond and power washed smoke damage off our siding and walkway. Very nice and hard working and will hire him again."

"I can see clearly now...! We have never had our windows professionally cleaned before. I mean, why would you, when a full day of sweat equity and dangling treacherously out of second story windows gets you a pretty good job. Yeh, no: there is nothing quite like have someone with the know-how and proper equipment to do the job right. Windows and screens spotlessly clear and clean. Sam was terrific - and a super nice guy as well! The perfect gift to ourselves."

Gutter Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Gutters should be cleaned at least twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, to remove the debris from trees that can clog the eavestroughs and downspouts. Debris like leaves, twigs, and seed pods can build up and cause your gutters to overflow, potentially causing damage to your roof and foundation. Water backing up under the shingles can rot the edge of your roofline. Overflow water falling next to your foundation can end up leaking into your basement or crawl space.

While both underground and above-ground downspout extensions are a step up from no downspout extensions, underground downspouts are better for those looking for a more discreet option. Underground downspouts are hidden away—out of sight, out of mind. You won't be bumping into the extended sections with your lawn mower, nor will you see the downspouts sticking out like a sore thumb.

Regular cleaning, checking for leaks, and ensuring that downspouts direct water away from the foundation help prolong gutter life.

Yes, it is okay to knock down icicles yourself. Just make sure to take the proper safety precautions. If you’re not comfortable doing it yourself, contact a roofing professional.

Clean regularly to prevent clogs, check for cracks, and ensure downspouts direct water away from the foundation.
