"Larry took on the incredibly ambitious project of renovating our 1914 Craftsman home, repainting the exterior, expanding the primary bathroom, refinishing floors, decking, stairwells, expanding and updating the kitchen, updating electrical and heating systems to modern standards, and so much more.The project is almost complete, but we were so excited that we wanted to write the review anyway! Throughout the process, Larry and his crew worked tirelessly to get things done, always focusing on quality and making sure we were happy with the work. Even partway through the project, neighbors were already commenting on how much they loved his color choices, and how much he and his crew cared about the project. Even given how large the project was, Larry and his crew tackled it head-on and got it done; he really brought out what made this home so special to us. "Patrick, Manuel, and their whole team were fantastic to work. My house is 100 years old, two stories of cedar shakes, and hadn’t been painted in 15+ years. Needless to say, this was not an easy project and required lots of expertise and hand scraping, sanding and priming to even get paint to stick on the old wood. Patrick was so knowledgeable and created a great project plan and Manuel and the team worked diligently over several days of very hot weather to get everything done. The thing that impressed me the most was their communication skills, which were the best I’ve ever experienced on a house project—Patrick provided a proposal in only 2 days (amazing!), answered emails and texts within 30 minutes of receiving them, and the team provided updates everyday. Everyone on-site was so nice and helpful too! And, most importantly, they made my old house look GREAT!"

When you’re considering hiring a painter, a quote should include the following items:

You may need to provide your own paint, depending on the agreement you make with the painter. Some painters prefer that you buy the paint and they supply the labor. However, some professional painters get a better price on paint and can pass that savings along to you even after accounting for labor costs.
The average cost to paint a ceiling ranges from $3 to $8.50 per square foot, which is about $1 to $2.50 more per square foot than the cost to paint the walls. Rooms with high ceilings require working from a ladder or scaffolding and often include trim or detail work, which adds to the final price.
Professional painters charge $20 to $50 per hour, on average. Hourly rate cost factors include the complexity of the paint job, the type of paint, the height of the walls and ceiling, and the type of prep and repairs needed. For example, removing wallpaper costs an additional $3 per square foot because it can be very time consuming and labor intensive. Your location will also impact the hour rate.
