"Jose and his crew did a great job for me. They were fast, and did exactly what we talked about doing. Cleanup of the yard, mow, weed, topsoil/manure for new seed. I’m sure it will look great in no time"

"Martin and his team did a fantastic job taming our very overgrown garden, pruning a couple of trees, planting another and installing a new lawn. The grass seeds are just beginning to grow, and we are enjoying the new greening. Martin is a great communicator via text and email, responding quickly to questions and concerns. He and his team hauled away not only all of the weeds and branches, but also all the old plastic pots and broken tools behind the house. We will gladly bring them back for future projects."

Customers say: Quick response

"Carillo's landscaping did a great job clearing 3/4 of an acre for me. They cut down and disposed of heavy vegetation and black berry brambles. I plan on hiring them again to trim my trees and clean up leaves and yard debris before winter hits. I would highly recommend them and know their work will not disappoint."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Buffalo grass does not turn green as early in the spring as some other grasses. If you have a heavily shaded yard, buffalo grass may not receive enough sunlight to thrive. It’s not as dense as some other grass varieties, so it may not feel as comfortable on bare feet.

Typically seasonally, but tailored schedules depend on local conditions and plant types.

The safest method to avoid killing your turf grass is hand pulling Johnsongrass. You can also apply vinegar for a safer herbicide, but it will still burn your lawn if it gets on it.

There are organic herbicide options that will kill grass but not flowers, including white vinegar or a dish soap solution. Commercial selective herbicides can also target grass over other plants, but read the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your garden. Herbicides that kill grass but not flowers usually include ingredients like clethodim and sethoxydim. Otherwise, your best bet will be to weed by hand.

Due to its slow growth, Bahia grass does not generally take over weeds. In fact, the opposite can be true. Young Bahia grass is susceptible to being taken over by weeds.

Likewise, in the cool season, Bahia grass goes into a dormant state that can allow weeds that thrive in early spring to get the upper hand. If you want to prevent weeds from taking over your yard, remove them by hand or apply a Bahia grass-friendly pre-emergent herbicide to your lawn before weeds have a chance to appear.
