"Zero complaints. I have worked with Insulation Northwest twice now and have been very satisfied both times. The sales agent worked with me to find the best and most cost-effective solution, the customer service team is responsive, and the installers were professional, curtious, and pleasant. "It went very well from the estimate process. Rory took the time to explain the process. As I had questions, he took the time to talk to me and explain in detail. Deb coordinated the scheduling extremely well. Among the estimates I got they were the most reasonably priced. I started out only doing the attic. They did such a good job, I decided to go ahead and have the crawlspace insulated as well by Madrona Insulation. BTW, shout out to a terrific installation crew!"

"Enrique and Alex performed the task. They were punctual, polite and very quiet, which I was very happy with. I expected the hose and insulation to have been noisy. Great job, thanks so much."

"Other than a slight delay in the scheduling of the reinstall of the insulation everything has been positive. We appreciate the attention to detail and the diligence in helping us deal with the issues that presented on this project. We will now be more comfortable in our new home with a significant difference in our heating bills. We also appreciate their alliance with Cascade Pest Control. This has been a good experience overall with long term provider relationships established. We highly recommend."

"I needed my attic insulation updated. It had the original “blown in” loose material from 1975. After 49 years it had deteriorated and compressed. It was only a few inches deep. Also a leak in our old roof (recently replaced) had caused some mold in the old insulation. It had to be removed completely and redone. I called JB Insulation and asked for an estimate. Jose came over and inspected our attic. His experience and expertise was evident by how he explained everything. I felt very confident that I wanted his company to do the job. His price was very competitive and offered us the most value for our money. On the day of the job, his guys took much care in preparing for the job. They covered and taped our floors and wall corners to protect our home’s interior. They used a high powered insulation vacuum and removed all of the old insulation. They installed the new insulation and new baffles all in one day. Our attic looks great and we are really happy with their work. Yes I would recommend JB Insulation."

"We had rat damage to our insulation and ducts in our crawl space. In addition the vapor barrier needed to be dealt with. He did a great job as this was a tough area to work in. We also had him clean our dryer duct as it also was under the house. He took it apart and brushed it clean. We were so happy with all his work that we had him clean all of our furnace ducts with his power brush and vacuum."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Closed-cell spray foam insulation itself serves as a vapor barrier (or vapor retarder). However, you may need to install a vapor barrier if you have open-cell spray foam insulation. When in doubt, work with a professional insulation contractor, as they can provide more detail about the specific needs of your home in your climate.

The most affordable way to insulate a garage involves choosing cost-effective materials like fiberglass, which comes in batts or rolls and is relatively easy to install. You can often install this type of insulation without needing to add drywall, which helps reduce costs. While a DIY approach might seem cheapest, hiring a professional installer can be highly cost-effective. Experts can accurately determine your garage's specific insulation needs and ensure the best results for your investment, often using batt insulation for the bulk of the project.

To keep cold out, look for treatments that sit close to the window frame and are made from thick, insulating materials. Thermal curtains, cellular shades, window quilts, and insulated shutters can all help retain heat. Layering window treatments, like pairing lined curtains with cellular shades, can provide even better insulation by further reducing drafts and heat transfer.

Spray foam insulation doesn’t do well around heat sources. Therefore, You can use spray foam insulation to seal around HVAC boots that penetrate through the drywalls or around where wrapped ducts connect to the boots, but we don’t recommend using spray foam insulation to encapsulate your air ducts. Spray foam insulation on air ducts is also less effective compared to duct wraps.

Yes, PEX pipes should be insulated in certain situations. While insulation is not always necessary for pipes running through insulated interior or external walls, it is recommended for any pipes located in uninsulated rooms, unheated areas, or outside, especially in regions with cold winters. The primary reason is to prevent freezing. Although PEX is more resistant to cracking from freezing than other materials, repeated freezing and thawing can weaken the pipes over time, increasing the risk of a burst.
