Offers commercial services

"Martin and his team did a fantastic job taming our very overgrown garden, pruning a couple of trees, planting another and installing a new lawn. The grass seeds are just beginning to grow, and we are enjoying the new greening. Martin is a great communicator via text and email, responding quickly to questions and concerns. He and his team hauled away not only all of the weeds and branches, but also all the old plastic pots and broken tools behind the house. We will gladly bring them back for future projects."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

It’s best to pull weeds when the soil is wet, as it’s much easier. Wet soil is much softer than dry soil, making it easier to pull the entire weed up by the root. Also, since the soil is wet, the roots will let go of the soil and slide up with less resistance. Be careful when working on your wet garden, though, as wet soil is easier to compact, which can harm your plants.

They compete for nutrients and water, potentially stunting desired plants.

There are organic herbicide options that will kill grass but not flowers, including white vinegar or a dish soap solution. Commercial selective herbicides can also target grass over other plants, but read the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your garden. Herbicides that kill grass but not flowers usually include ingredients like clethodim and sethoxydim. Otherwise, your best bet will be to weed by hand.

Yes, vinegar can be an effective way to kill individual dandelion plants to help in the hand-removal process. However, vinegar can also kill turfgrass, so use a targeted spray.

Mowing is one of the most important ways to maintain your lawn because it encourages grass to grow horizontally, creating a fuller, more uniform yard. On top of mowing your lawn, you’ll want to routinely fertilize your lawn, water it regularly, and take care of pests the moment they arise.
