"From the beginning, Husky Fence was easy to work with. They were responsive and always showed up on time (unlike any of the other companies I requested quotes from). Their quote was competitive. Phil asked a lot of questions to make sure I got what I wanted and him and his team put up a great fence!! Would definitely recommend."

"Cesar and his partner did a great job installing my fence and gate. They showed up at 8am and worked until the install was complete which was around 5. They worked through snow and rain to get it done. The fence looks amazing and will definitely use them again on any future projects. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a fence install or repair."

"Ruvim followed up promptly after posting my request on Angi. I had a small baseboard repair project and he completed the job quickly and for a fraction of the cost of other quotes I had received. He did a great job and He was neat and respectful. I would not hesitate to call him for other projects as needed."

Customers say: True professional

"I would definitely recommend Defeat Contracting to anyone looking for a fast fair construction project. I had them close in my carport and I could not be happier. The results are just what I had envisioned, and it was done in about three and a half days. We had to rethink some of the project and Remington took the changes to heart and we ended up with a beautiful outcome. Their work ethic was impressive, working hard each day and then leaving the site in great shape. Thank You Rem"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

If you don’t have a pressure washer or simply don’t want to lug it out of storage, you can spot-clean your wood fence with a garden hose instead. Apply your mild detergent with a soft cloth, scrub with a broom or other soft-bristled brush, and rinse with a garden hose.

Since wood is weaker when installed horizontally versus vertically, a horizontal fence is prone to sagging. You can prevent this drooping from happening by building a sturdier fence. Use softwoods that are more stable, such as cedar and redwood, or denser hardwoods for your fence materials. If you can’t afford these pricey materials, use thicker two-by-six pressure-treated pine boards or shorten the span the fence boards have to cover by installing more posts.

You can't build a fence against your neighbor's fence if it touches or is attached to it unless you get explicit permission from your neighbor. Most municipalities recommend building a fence about two feet away from your neighbor's fence to allow access for fence repair and mowing.

A setback is an area of space between your fence and the property line, meaning you build a fence a few inches before your neighbor’s property begins. You can build your fence on a setback—some communities recommend this—but this means a sliver of your property will be on your neighbor’s side of your fence.

The most common type of metal fence today is one made of either steel or aluminum. These materials are relatively easy to fabricate, making them much more cost-effective than traditional metal fencing handmade from wrought iron. They’re also much lighter and easier to install, contributing to their affordability and making them more DIY-friendly.
