"We had a wonderful experience having our new units installed by Sunset Air. Our initial contact Jessie was great to work with. The installation team of Ian, Jason, and Michael, and the Electricians Tristan and Justin were all very professional and did a great job. Jessie made several trips to our home, confirming our system as the team at Sunset Air put together a plan and identified what system would best suit our needs. The team was able to troubleshoot our old 1970 furnace and heat pump system. The system was a unique installation in an outside furnace room with a lot of the plumbing running under the home. Removal was quick. The new installation required some custom-designed Ductwork and some changes to the electrical system to ensure proper installation. The installation team was always on time, and when they left, you would never have known they were there; they took everything with them daily. Once the system was complete, we received a comprehensive run-through of the entire system and tips for maintaining the overall system. We were kept informed all the way through the process. Ian and Michael went the extra mile at the end and noticed the UV Units were not working correctly because our custom system wasn’t providing enough pressure to turn the units on. They spent the time troubleshooting and custom fabricating a workaround on the fly, adjusting to ensure the system was working. We had our County Inspection the next day, and the County inspector was impressed and had great things to say about the installation. We hesitated for years to replace the furnaces because with an old farmhouse, everything turns into a “CUSTOM” Job and typically is full of heartache and pain with cost overruns and the “What We thought was.” Not with these guys. They came in, did a fantastic job, and finished not just on time, which has never happened at our home. They Finished Early !! Thank you to the whole team at Sunset Air. "Scammers and liars , I called SGA to check out my gate because it stopped working , after couple of days someone came out with no tools or parts had only a Multimeter, there was no power going to the control board and he told me i need a new control board , i don’t know how could he do that without power !!! he literally spent three minutes and then took a picture of the control board and said he or another technician wil come out with a new control board but never heard back from them , a few days later i took the battery to an auto part store and asked them to test it , they said the battery was seven years old and it’s dead, so i purchased a new battery , after installing it back the control board started working just fine. i called SGA and asked them what happened and i told them that the board is fine and their technician did not diagnose anything so they stared making up stories and gave me a whole bunch of lies DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AT ALL , THEY WILL SCAM YOU by the way i got a call from someone at GSA today and told me they will install a new control board for $900 !! and a new system would cost $9000 the control board cost about $250-$300 and i’m sure they can get much cheaper and literally takes five minutes to replace . i don’t know why they want to charge almost $700 for five minutes of work?. and a whole brand new complete system by LiftGate cost only $2600 here is the link, [*** Link removed ***] time to install a complete system is about 2-3 hours but they want to charge $7000 just for labor!!! these people are scammers ."

"Cost of Kim’s services for planting a ~1500 sq ft hillside: 20-25k Cost of construction: 40k For professionals who are providing a long-term service, any negative reviews are red flags because it indicates that they were not professional in resolving issues privately with their client. In our case, Kim was defensive, made many costly mistakes, and then billed us for the hours spent discussing and resolving them. She charges principal level rates for inexperienced site research and permit assistance and cannot take ownership of her mistakes with professionalism and grace. She also makes it difficult to detect her mistakes because her contract insists that her office is the only one allowed to submit for permits. I heard from a few people in the design and construction business that they preferred other LA firms over Kim’s. This should have been a red flag from the start but I ignored the suggestion and hired her due to her 5 star ratings. Here's our experience: 1. She makes costly mistakes and does not take ownership for them. She unnecessarily delayed our permit process about 10 months when it could have been done in 2 months—she forced us to go through a lengthy design and permitting process because she was convinced that our hillside was a Steep Slope even though our Survey didn't indicate the presence of one. Luckily, a city reviewer emailed all of us asking why Kim drew a Steep Slope on her plans which was not in the Survey she submitted. It took a couple emails and a call from me to convince her that our slope was not steep. She billed for these discussions, the revisions, and resubmitting permit revisions. She had a hard time taking ownership for this mistake, and instead blamed the surveyor for not labeling the Steep Slope. The surveyor is not responsible for labeling it if it doesn’t exist, Kim. The overall financial damage of her mistake was over $15k, among the unnecessary hours billed by Kim, the unnecessary permit fees, and an unnecessary Geotech report we had to get as a result of this process. 2. She mistook a shrub for a protected tree and drew it in the wrong location on our Planting Plan. When I texted her, she told me she was billing me for discussing this mistake and that she would charge me for revising the Planting Plan around the correct location of the shrub. What’s to keep her from taking advantage of me and making intentional mistakes just so she can charge me more? 3. She didn’t deliver what she promised on our proposal and pushed back on our vision because she was afraid the city wouldn’t allow it. She billed us hours for inaccurate site research, mislabeled our setbacks, and didn't design short retaining walls which the city would have allowed. 4. She also seems desperate and pushy when it comes to money. One time, she spent an hour texting me to call my bank to see if they could speed up a payment hold of 3-5 days. That hour would have been better spent on proofreading her plans."

The very best part, besides ending up with a great railing, was dealing with a team who was both great at what they do plus being customer oriented. We needed a grill/grate on the deck, and they even found a piece for me. They offered outstanding service that went above and beyond what was expected. Thank you, Holland!
