We specialize in severely comprised foundation issues. We can elevate, level, pier or replace a wall or your entire foundation. We do not do mudjacking, waterproofing or minor crack repair.

There’s no difference between a “slab foundation” and a “slab-on-grade foundation,” and contractors and homeowners use the terms synonymously. “Slab foundation” is just a shortened version of “slab-on-grade.” In both cases, the homebuilder will pour the concrete foundation into a mold they build directly on the ground. As such, these foundations require no expensive excavation.

Concrete should be at least 4 inches thick for steps. This thickness boosts stability and prevents cracking and deterioration. After you’ve built your forms out of wood, fill the void with a sand or gravel base for concrete. Use an all-purpose concrete mix to form your steps. After pouring your concrete steps, be sure to screed and float the concrete. 

Concrete lasts much longer than cement, as it can withstand heavy loads and harsh weather conditions. Concrete can last for over 100 years under most conditions. Cement cracks and crumbles when used independently, but it is an important ingredient of building materials such as concrete and mortar. You use cement and other ingredients to make concrete.

Thicker concrete is less likely to crack due to extreme weather changes.
