Yes, you can paint over a troweled wall once the texture is fully dry. Remember that textured surfaces may require more paint and hands-on, detailed work to ensure you get into all the nooks and crannies. If your walls are highly textured, a paint sprayer may be the best fit for the job.

You can use either paint thinner or mineral spirits to clean paint brushes, but both have distinct advantages. Paint itself isn’t necessarily bad if you see bubbles, but bubbling signals a problem with how the paint is adhering to the surface. Left unaddressed, these bubbles can burst and cause peeling or flaking, which compromises the appearance and durability of the finish. In some cases, bubbling can reveal deeper issues like moisture damage or surface contamination. If bubbles form during application, fix the underlying cause before repainting for a lasting, smooth result.

You can technically use wall paint on a ceiling, but it’s not ideal. Wall paint is thinner and more prone to dripping, which makes it harder—and messier—to apply overhead. Any significant level of sheen can highlight ceiling imperfections and create glare from lighting. Flat ceiling paint is the better choice for a smooth, even finish that hides flaws.

If you paint a vinyl fence, it will likely stick to it for only a brief amount of time. This is because vinyl is not a porous material, so it's not an ideal surface for holding paint. Initially, paint will stick to your fence, but it will eventually peel off. Applying primer before painting your vinyl fence will help paint last longer. Certain primers are well-suited to vinyl, which means you can paint vinyl siding with the proper preparation.
