"Adam and his team did an amazing job on completing a backyard fence for my family. He was hardworking and detailed with the work. Kept me updated through every step of the way from the permit process, ordering materials and check-ins as the build was happening. Our fence is great! He also completed a custom railing and gate to attach to our existing deck. Will definitely be using we do it all again for future projects."

"I had old tile that needed to be removed and replaced in my kitchen, hall-way and bathroom (300 sq ft). I placed a request for a tile installation on Home Advisor and Joel responded within an hour. He set up an appointment the next day to look at the job. His price was great, his availability fit our schedule, he started as we planned and he and his crew did a 5 Star, Great Job. You won't find a better team to do your tile work. Thanks Joel."

"Dakota was personable and reliable. He was able to provide really wonderful details about the tile I wanted and was very knowledgeable about what he was doing and willing to share with me what he was doing and how the process works. He worked with my schedule and was very understanding. He even came back after one of my children chipped a tile and repaired it for very little cost. He is wonderful and I would hire him again!"

"In our 35 years of house ownership, this is the first time we have used Zamora's Painting. The work was done on time, without interruptions, and to the highest standards exceeding any other past painting contractor. Jesus Zamora was responsive and reliable from the estimation process and through the project work. The team was coordinated and hardworking. The surface preparation was thorough including our garage which needed extensive hand scrapping. Primer was applied and then two coats of paint. The trim was painted with great care. Fantastic work!"

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can tile over existing shower tiles, but it's better to remove the old tiles first for the best results. Tiling over existing tiles requires a clean, level surface and proper adhesion. If the old tiles are in good condition, you can roughen the surface to improve adhesion. However, removing the old tiles ensures a smoother, longer-lasting finish and prevents potential issues down the line.

It’s best to install a shower door after the bathroom tile is in place to ensure you have accurate measurements. If you try installing a shower door first, the tile might be too thick to install afterward, or the tile will be too thin and create a gap between the shower doors that allows water to leak. With the tile in place first, you’ll know the exact shower door size that you need.

No, you don’t need to remove the old grout before installing new tile over existing tile. In fact, the old grout helps fill in gaps between tiles, creating a more even surface for the new layer. However, it's important to ensure that the grout is clean, solid, and free of cracks or crumbling areas. Damaged grout should be repaired or replaced before proceeding. Cleaning the surface thoroughly and filling any low spots will help the new adhesive bond properly and ensure a smooth, stable installation.

Tile countertops can be an excellent and budget-friendly option for a kitchen, provided they are installed correctly. It's important to choose tiles, such as ceramic, that are heat-, water-, and scratch-resistant. When the grout is properly sealed, it will resist stains, making the surface easy to clean. Tile is also considered a sustainable material. For a cohesive kitchen design and added protection, you can pair a tile countertop with a matching tile backsplash.

Glass, ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone are all excellent choices for tiling a shower floor. Some glazed finishes can be slippery when wet. Your tiling contractor can provide more information on which tiles will work best for your shower floor.
