I was satisfied with the information and attention to detail he had to offer on what would need to be addressed for the project. I asked that if it was possible to please send me an estimate by Monday due to a timeline I had to make a decision by. He stated the he would try for Sunday. It's Thursday and I never did receive an estimate. I contacted the number listed on his business card, texted, emailed, and sent a message through the home advisor site, even contacted the person managing my search through Home Advisor, and no luck?! I'm not sure what happened, but I am disappointed that he never got back to me. I hired another contractor."

He did my driveway widen it tarted dug all the old dirt out, reused it another part of my property for me as a matter fact, and then proceeded to my sisters driveway, which is more like a road and put Bluestone down after he went in the driveway made it more level so much easier more to plow took out a corner for me and made a turnaround for my sister and filled it in so itâ s not as muddy. He knows what heâ s doing drain offs I was like really impressed."

"We have had an intermittant water problem in our basement primarily when it rains heavily in the Winter.
I was very happy with the quick response from Mike Sears when we initially called to ask about repairing a water leak problem in our basement.  Mike explained how his proposed solution would work to alleviate the water problem. 
Mike left us with a detailed estimate and informational materials about the proposed repair.  He also explained what wasn't included in the job such as tearing out the current sheetrock, insulation and framing from the wall.  I did  this part of the work and the reconstruction after the drain had been installed.
We spoke to Mike a few days later, agreed to the price and set a date for the repair.
On the scheduled date, two of Mikes employees arrived on time and began to prep for the repair.  They did a good job of hanging plastic sheeting around their work area so that the dirt and dust would not get into the rest of the basement.
We had discovered a crack in the basement wall which wasn't visible when the original estimate was given.  Scott Lee gave  us a written estimate to repair it with carbon-fiber cloth and sealant.  While this was an unexpected expense, there was no reason to put in a drain and leave a crack in the wall.
Taking out a basement floor with a jackhammer and installing a drain is a hard, dirty job.  Scott and his co-worker completed this job in about 6 1/2 hours including the additional work for the wall crack.
They did a good job of cleaning up the old concrete and all working materials 
Scott explained how the pump would work when the water table under the house rose.  
My only issue with quality was the uneven concrete finish work on the basement floor above the drain.  Because this was leveled by hand, there is a somewhat noticeable depression in this area of the floor.
Overall, I am happy with the work and looking forward to a dry basement when the rains come this spring.

"Alan is a trustworthy guy who wants to make his customers happy.  For big jobs, he works with a friend, and both of them together can do essentially anything (including basic electrical and basic plumbing).  We first hired him to remodel our bathroom.  It included tearing a wall down and expanding it so a bath could fit in the room.  They also had to tear down a 150 year old brick chimney in the process.  They installed a new vanity, built a shelving unit into the wall and put in the lighting.  The finished product was good.  The room was not square, but the house is built in 1836, so I don't know if anyone could have done that.  
Next, we had him install a railing on our stairs.  This came out great no complaints.  
He then installed a bedroom with laminate flooring and also the stair landing.  This job was not as clean, some of the floor trim was not edged and the lines of the wood running from the bedroom to the stair landing were not flush.  These negatives though were a result of a positive - that is, for this job, he worked from dusk until sun up because he had other jobs/commitments later in the week.  He is an extremely hard worker.  For this job we traded the finishing touches for timely completion - and overall the finished product was still good.  
The last major job was the sheetrocking in between our beams downstairs. 
In most jobs, there was a little clean up I had to do - pieces of wood from the carpentry of the bathroom left in a crawlspace, horsehair plaster or sheetrock left crumbled on the floor.  They forgot to include thresholds in the bathroom and bedroom jobs as well.  HOWEVER,  whenever I spoke with Alan about any of this, anything I had not already done, he came over promptly and fixed/completed/cleaned it.  He was reachable and kind and we trusted him.  He said a few times that he wanted to make sure we were happy.  
We called him on two or three separate occasions because he is a hard worker, he is trustworthy and his price is reasonable.  We would call him again for sure.
