"Company was recommended by neighbors who have been happy with the doors and openers. Salesman set up appointment and came out within a couple of days. That same day he sent an email with the quote and said he could have it done the next week, because of a cancellation. Unfortunately, the quote didn't include an item I'd requested and the email didn't answer a question I had about specials on their website. When he came, he said he didn't know anything about the website, but would look into it and get back to me. So, emailed him back about the item and specials. Did not hear back from him.
Meanwhile, their website had changed and I had joined Angie's list and read the company's reviews and found a $50.00 coupon. So, after waiting three weeks to hear back from the salesman, I called and asked about the item missing from the quote and mentioned the Angie's list coupon.  He said he would not charge me for the item, which was very nice. Then he said he didn't know anything about the Angie's list coupon, so asked me to mail a copy to him and he would let me know if he would take it. After giving the deposit and mailing the coupon, it took a couple of phone calls from me to get the installation date. I still did not hear whether or not he would take the coupon. Two days before installation he called to say they were changing the installation to the next day, and that ended up being fine. I received an approximate time and installers arrived within the hour and were very good about explaining things and doing the installation. There was no mess when the installers were done. The final bill did have the Angie's coupon taken off.
The door looks great and the motor works well. My disappointment was in getting the salesman to respond to questions in a timely and direct manner. It took almost two months from my first call to the company and getting the door and opener installed."

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

The most common scale for residential blueprints is 1/4 of an inch equals one foot. This scale is the most popular because it’s easier for everyone involved, from professionals to homeowners, to understand the building’s actual dimensions. Also, it allows blueprints to have the necessary details without cluttering the page.

You don’t have to commit to a complete home renovation to age in place comfortably—those can get pricey. Instead, focus on a few impactful changes. Consider adding a stair lift or installing ramps to eliminate barriers. Upgrading to non-slip flooring can prevent falls while adding brighter lighting can improve visibility throughout your home. These thoughtful updates can make your home much easier to navigate and enhance your comfort and safety without the stress and cost of a complete overhaul.

Costs depend on project complexity, materials, labor, permits, and required revisions.

Villa exterior features often include large windows, arched doorways, patios, terraces, greenery, and gardens. Common exterior colors for villas are whites and off-whites, soft browns, and clay tones.

Universal design costs can be minimal when you add them during construction; however, adding universal design principles to existing homes can sometimes increase renovation costs. For example, a mid-grade bathroom remodel is estimated to cost around $30,000, while a standard universal design remodel can cost closer to $40,000. Adding accessible design components can include widening hallways ($500 to $2,000), curbless showers ($2,000 to $8,000), and widening doors ($400 to $800). Keep in mind that these increased costs can lead to higher resale values because universal homes may appeal to a wider variety of buyers.
