"I gave Xpro Remodeling a 50% deposit of $1,600 to start a job. They agreed to start in late August, and then took on another job, trying to push my work out two months. I asked for a refund and/or the possibility to bump me in earlier as I was having a tenant move in and she did not want work done in the house while she lived there. I ended up losing a month's rent, and then they did not start the job two months later. They cited that they could keep my deposit because I signed a non-refundable contract. They are the one's who breached the contract, and they think that they can legally and ethically keep my deposit. They were totally inflexibile and unethical and I am taking them to small claims court to recoup my deposit."

A 50-pound mirror can be hung on drywall, but only if it has the support of strong hardware. Ideally, you can find the studs behind the drywall and attach the mirror to them; this will give your mirror better stability. When cutting new drywall, it can release dust with silica and other compounds that could pose health risks. Leave cutting drywall to the pros, or wear a high-quality respiratory mask, goggles, and other PPE when handling drywall.

You should always work from top to bottom when hanging drywall. There are a few reasons for this. For one, starting at the top makes it easier to create a straight wall between the ceiling and the wall. Plus, moving downward lets you avoid any awkward gaps at the top. It’s easier to deal with gaps at the bottom because you can cut the drywall to fit the space or cover the gap with baseboard trim.

In most applications, shiplap installations cost more than that of putting in drywall.
