We did not know any deck contractors and fortunately saw Mr. Creech's internet site.
 We called and had an initial appointment at our home. It was obvious Mr. Creech was well experienced in both wood and alternative decking materials. He did not steer us to wood or other decking materials, but explained the pros and cons of each decking material. He left brochures with us to review. The meeting was very informative with no pressure.
I went to a job site that was in process and saw the workmanship first hand. I also saw a deck that was recently finished, and chose Custom Decks by AAA Contracting to do our deck.  
Mr. Creech came to our home and provided a complete and easy to understand contract with very reasonable payment terms and a drawing of the new deck joist structure.
For materials, we chose Gossen Decking and handrails.
The existing wood decking, handrails, and side steps were removed to an onsite dumpster.
We decided to change the direction that we wanted the decking to run from parallel to the house to perpendicular to the house. Changing the directing of the decking required Mr. Creech to secure wooden cross pieces between the existing deck joists to provide a nailing surface for the new decking direction.
The new decking material is secured to the deck joists by a special nail that is machine punched into the side of the decking material to the joist so no nails are visible on the deck.
The side steps were made wider to meet current code as recommended by Mr. Creech.
Deck matching boards were secured to the perimeter wood joists to make a nice finished look.
The decks rails finished the job.
I was very please that at the end of each day the job site was kept clean.
The job took about 2 weeks with a few rain days.
Mr. Creech did all the work with his assistant Bob and did not sub out any of the work.
I highly recommend Mr. Creech and Custom Decks by AAA Contracting.
It was nice no having to clean and apply wood preserver to the deck this year.
