"Fantastic! Alex was incredibly responsive throughout the preparation and installation process. I'm building an unconventional house, an Earthship, and it was an interesting challenge to bring together the original roof construction design, required updates, and the rubber roof requirements. Alex is always upbeat, patient and a pleasure to work with. Thank you!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Cheerful, energetic and positive human beings are rare, but London was one and it was a pleasure to watch teamwork go so smoothly! . The work itself was performed by someone who clearly understood roofs; the gutters were pressure washed, and the dirt and root- filled downpours were dislodged and emptied of the content all in a cheerful manner. Lastly, three decks were cleared of the roof debris using water spraying with a lower pressure.. To me, the people, London and his 2 helpers were a pleasure to watch at work; very rarely have I witnessed that kind of positivity at work; it was inspiring!!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

There are several pros and cons of flat roofs. One disadvantage of flat roofs is that you lose potential attic space because it's flat. Flat roofs tend to pool water and because they lack an angle, any leak in the roof—usually due to a bad seal—has the potential to let in a lot of water. They don’t work well in climates with snow. Flat roofs are also structurally weaker than sloped roofs.

Roof work is dangerous and exacting, and a misstep could lead to even more costly repairs, so we do not recommend DIYing. If you are dead set on giving it a go, practice safety measures. Wear a harness, only work during mild weather, and have a partner to help. Potentially DIY-friendly jobs include patching up small leaks, sealing areas around the chimney, and replacing a few shingles.

Hiring a reliable roofing contractor requires finding a company in your area with years of experience, holds the necessary licensing, and has a history of positive customer reviews and services. Start by researching whether a roofer you’re considering hiring holds the necessary certifications. Consider requesting customer references from your top contenders. Finally, get quotes from a few roofing companies and decide which provides the best value overall.

Tile roofing is durable, fire-resistant, and energy-efficient. It also adds aesthetic appeal and, with proper maintenance, can last 50-100 years.

Yes, roofers can repair and replace roof trusses. In fact, because trusses are such an important part of your roof’s structure, it’s best to have a roofing contractor deal with a damaged truss. If you try to fix the problem without the right skills or knowledge, your roof could sustain further damage or even collapse.
