Family owned & operated. We have over 13 years experience installing standing seam roofs, asphalt shingles, corrugated steel, low slope EPDM rubber membrane, cedar shakes, and copper roofs. We use only in house certified installers and do not sub contract our roof labor. We complete over 100 projects yearly with high quality results and impeccable cleanup. We also offer in house closed cell and open cell spray foam services. We can tear off the roof and insulate those hard to reach areas without entering the home. We are one of the areas most popular contractors with an excellent track record for service. The house was truly transformed after Zeb and his team were done. Zeb provided an accurate quote and exact timeframe for the project which was so helpful! This was our first home renovation project so we appreciated Zeb's insight and professional expertise. Aardvark is a small business, locally owned and operated servicing all of Nothern Vermont. We specialize in hazerdous tree removal, and commercial and residential excavation. We keep it small with only 2 full time empoloyees and 2 part time. We will occaisionally use subcontractors for heavy trucking and crane work. We are a LLC in the state of vermont and are currently in "good standing" with the state. Angie's list customers will recieve a 5% discount on all bids. We look foreward to hearing from you!

Yes, permeable paving is expensive. For driveways, expect to pay up to $70 per square foot; for patios, permeable paving can cost up to $30 per square foot. Costs will depend on the type of material you choose, plus the standard labor rate in your area.

Professional installers often include a deep layer of crushed gravel under permeable pavers to allow more runoff to soak through into the soil below. Many installations will include multiple layers of gravel, with coarser aggregate at the base and finer aggregate that sits on top of that bottom layer. Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.

Generally speaking, tiles are for indoor use, while pavers are for outdoor use. The main difference between travertine tiles and pavers is their thickness. Tiles are around 1/2 inch thick, and pavers are 1 1/4 inches to 2 inches thick.

Pavers are more rugged and can handle different weather. The extra thickness on pavers also makes them ideal for high-traffic areas.

The layer of polymeric sand under the pavers plus the polymeric sand that gets swept into the joints between your pavers holds them in place in a few ways. For one, the gritty texture of the sand helps lock the pavers together. Polymeric sand also contains bonding agents that get activated by water. Polymeric sand will take between 24 and 48 hours to fully cure, so do not walk on your paver walkway before this time.

Maintaining a driveway depends on the material your driveway is made of. Concrete and asphalt should be sealed to protect against water and freeze-thaw cycles. Cracks and expansion joints should be filled with a flexible polyurethane caulk or asphalt sealer. Before you apply a sealant to your driveway, consider pressure washing the surface. It will take off any loose sealant and any grime that might have caused a stain. Sealing over dirt and stains will trap it under the sealer.

If you live in colder climates, consider using sand rather than salt to de-ice. Sand helps melt the snow and ice without speeding up the freezing and unthawing process of your driveway, which helps prevent cracks from forming from the constant fluctuation of temperatures.
