Small jobs welcome

"Mr. Hernandez was terrific. I cannot say enough good things. I had five projects for him and he did each one perfectly. He even *made* a piece for my door on the spot out of wood that was in my garage! He was so tidy that there was nothing to clean up. He installed cabinets! He fixed two doors! He installed weatherproofing strips. He was very good about keeping in touch and letting me know when he would come. And he's nice, too!"

"The pro painted my metal roof and returned to paint a second coat to cover better. Everything looks great, and he did a good job. I'm completely satisfied and would use the pro again in the future."

"Jhon and the team were very professional, from setting up the project, to careful completion. Very competitive pricing. This was an exterior porch painting project, with white railings, posts, and skirt lattice, and red flooring and lower trim. They did a very clean painting, with excellent coverage. I would hire again, for either exterior or interior projects."

"I was very happy with Parmer and Son and the job they did for me. They painted a large home and a few barns. the power washing they did in preparation to paint was above my expectations. they work was carful and accurate. The process from meeting with the first person to get the estimate to the final walk through to see if all had been done to my satisfaction was very professional. All the workers did an excellent and careful job . The estimated time to begin and finish the job was right on schedule. They noticed a few broken pieces on the roof siding and fixed that as well. I would recommend this company highly for your painting ,staining needs."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

To remove painted-over hinges for replacement or paint removal, you should use a utility knife to score around the edges of the hinges gently. Work very carefully so as not to damage the surrounding area. From there, you can unscrew the hinges and gently pry them off the door, making sure not to bend the metal.

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.

WD-40 can help remove paint on wood floors, but use it cautiously. Start with a small amount and let it sit for a few minutes, then gently scrape the paint off using a plastic (not metal) scraper. You may want to test it first on a hidden area to ensure it doesn't damage the finish. Professional products specifically designed for hardwood may be a better choice for large or stubborn paint spots.

The most common reason paint peels is because moisture gets trapped underneath it and disrupts its bond with the wall. Other causes for peeling paint include a poor original paint job, painting over a surface with dirt or other foreign material on it, or applying paint coats that are too thick.

You don’t necessarily have to remove all the old paint before repainting your deck, but it’s best to remove as much as possible to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Prioritize scraping off loose, peeling, or flaking paint, and sand down rough areas to create a smooth surface for the new paint to bond with.
