"Very disappointed with Greystone Masonry. We are not pleased with our stamped concrete patio at all. First, it was uneven. Instead of starting over, they cut the uneven portion out and re-poured only the affected section, which was about 1/4 of the patio. This resulted in uneven coloring. Again, instead of re-pouring, they sent someone out twice to reseal the patio, telling us it would even out the color. It didn't. As a result, there is so much sealant on the patio that now it has bubbles that have erupted all over the patio. I've contacted the store via phone and e-mail. No response from either. Terrible customer service. I would NOT recommend."

It is possible to DIY complete hardscaping projects, but in most cases, hiring a professional is best to get the job done correctly. A traditional driveway gate isn’t your only option when installing a barricade in front of your driveway. A security gate like a swing gate, double swing gate, bi-folding gate, vertical gate, or pivot gate could work just as well as your driveway gate—if not better for your home depending on which qualities you’re after. Like sliding driveway gates, many of these alternatives work with automatic features that simplify entering and exiting your property.

While it may be less expensive initially to lay concrete vs. pavers, the long-term expenses that come with repairing concrete may prove to be less cost-friendly than simply replacing a few damaged pavers. On top of that, stamped concrete may only last for 25 years compared to pavers, which can last over 50 years.

An example of permeable paving is a set of cinder blocks or natural stone pavers with room inside for natural materials, such as gravel, sand, or grass. You can also design these pavers with brick or plastic tiles.

In addition to these pavers, permeable pavement can be obtained by using a highly porous material, such as pervious concrete or pervious asphalt.

If you wish to break up a cracked or broken paver for removal, you can use a hammer or mallet and a chisel to fragment the paver. As you’re working, be careful not to disturb surrounding pavers; the key is to work slowly and steadily and remove the broken pieces gently. You should also wear a mask and goggles to ensure that no dust gets into your eyes, nose, or mouth as you work.
