"Big huge thank you to Blake at Roanoke River Cabinetry for a quick turnaround on my beautiful new kitchen! The quote process was very smooth - Blake returned my call promptly and scheduled a time to measure and hear my wishlist which included new cabinets, the removal of a wall, and the addition of an island. He made great suggestions after he listened to what I wanted. The appointment was quick, and when I received my itemized quote and layout drawings, I was happy to see that everything we discussed was included at a price I thought was fair and reasonable. I was told a timeframe of when the work would start when I accepted the quote, and it started on time. Tim, the contractor, and his assistant Karen were WONDERFUL and did great work. I was happy to have them in my home. I highly recommend Roanoke River Cabinetry. So many things can become a problem if you don't have an experienced team; Blake has good people working with him. The cabinets I received from Roanoke River Cabinetry were much better quality (plywood boxes, soft close doors and drawers and TONS of organization) than what I was presented with from other stores. In particular, regular sweeping and annual polishing and sealing will keep them looking beautiful and prevent wear and damage.

Granite floor installation takes two to five days for an average-sized room, depending on the area size, complexity, and whether additional preparation work is required. Larger or more intricate projects may take longer, especially if demolition or subfloor repairs are needed. Scheduling and contractor availability can also affect the timeline, so be sure to prepare in advance.

Silicone caulk shouldn’t be used in place of grout because each material serves its own purpose. Thanks to its flexibility, silicone caulk is good for sealing around the perimeter of tiled floors, where movement and expansion might occur. However, grout is more durable, making it a better option for the joints in between tiles, which need to withstand constant weight and foot traffic.

It’s not a good idea to lay tile and grout on the same day. The adhesive or thin-set that sticks the tiles to the surface needs plenty of time to dry before you can grout.
