"My chest freezer broke down and I did not want to buy a new one since I could not afford the same size. I reached out to appliance parts pro and they were confident that what I ordered would fix my problem. $200 in parts later and I now have a broken freezer on my porch and am still paying the loan to this terrible company. They just want you to order parts and try them because they know you can't return them. I hate this company with every fiber of my being and will make sure that anyone that has a broken appliance will not use them. To top it off, their site is so screwed up that it give you an error trying to log back in. I ended up having to create THREE different accounts because every time I went to place a new order, it would not let me login and it would not send a password reset email. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF."

"I had the pleasure of using this service last August. Last year my AC went out and another company wanted to charge me over $800. to repair it. Being outraged and "hot" I called Advantage. Two very handsome men not only quickly repaired it, but the bill was a little over $100. "This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

Yes, it's normal for air conditioners to leak tiny amounts of water due to condensation. Under normal circumstances, all excess moisture travels to the drain pan to be pumped through your system's drain line. You should call a technician to diagnose the issue if you're noticing frequent leaking or pooling. It's also important to investigate if your homeowners insurance can cover water damage.

There are many signs of a bad AC fan motor, including if the fan blades don’t spin when the AC kicks on or if they keep spinning when the AC is off. The AC fan cools down the condenser coil, so a faulty motor can also cause the system to overheat. Unusual noises in the exterior AC unit, including grinding or rattling sounds, may also be a sign that the AC fan motor is worn out.

If refrigerant levels are low, it can cause the evaporator coil to freeze up. Low freon causes a drop in pressure, which will make the coil too cold and cause moisture to freeze on the coil. Your system may be low on refrigerant because of a leak. 

Make sure to have maintenance performed twice a year, and contact your local HVAC technician if you suspect your system has low freon levels.

You may never need an AC recharge if there are no leaks. However, if your AC unit has a leak that cannot be patched appropriately, you’ll need an AC recharge every time the freon level drops low enough that it disrupts your system—this could be once every two to three years. It all depends on the size and frequency of the leak.
