"Tim and his team were courteous and professional during every step of the way. This was a large job and we had a tight timeline of 2 weeks between closing on the house and moving in. They started and ended on time, and even came back after the move to touch up where the mover's had left a few blemishes at no extra charge! All of the trim (crown moldings, chair rails, window frames, and floor trim) looks fantastic. This is an older house, so there were a lot of holes in the walls to deal with, but every room looks brand new now, with no signs of any holes or anchors. The job went so well that we hired them to stain our deck 2 months later- and it looks great as well! I would highly recommend Tim and his team for your next paint project."

"Great job and timely. Moved furniture and covered everything including floors. They recommended a satin finish for easy cleaning and it turned out great. Price was very competitive. Thanks and they will be on the top of the list for the next painting project. Kimberly"

"Ferguson Home Improvements did a fantastic job.  All the work that needed to get done, was finished beyond my expectations.  The workers were very friendly.  The job took a little longer that expected, but Ferguson Home Improvements were not at fault, the weather played a major factor with the deck stain and door installation.  At the time the work was getting done, we received a lot of rain and storms.  All in all, I would highly recommend Ferguson Home Improvements.

"I purchased the deal for my rental property. I spoke with a woman and explained that she would need to communicate with my tenants. The tenants later told me that they had cleaned the gutters recently and the service was not needed. I emailed the woman to explain the situation and she said was very understanding. She extended the deal for me to next November. She was very professional and responsive. I  am very pleased with the company so far."

"It went very well. The bathroom wall involved some minor repair prior to painting. The other job was in the kitchen and involved repairing a crack in the drywall and the door frame. We are very satisfied with the result. It was done in a very timely manner as well"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Hot, intense sunshine can cause your stain to dry too quickly, which could lead it to look uneven or patchy. If you’re staining the deck during hotter months, it’s best to do it in the morning or evening once the wood has had time to cool down. If you’re staining in cooler weather with less sunshine, the time of day won’t make as much of a difference.

It’s a good idea to sand your porch before painting. This will remove loose or chipped paint and debris, and give you a cleaner surface so that your new paint goes on smoothly. But if the existing surface is in good condition, it’s not necessary to sand your porch before you paint.

Here's the deal with leaving used rags covered in oil-based stain lying around in a pile: Depending on the conditions, these rags can take just an hour or up to a few days to combust. The source of ignition is caused by trapped heat that can be compounded if the rags are near a heat source.

Always sand a deck before repainting so the wood is smooth and ready for paint. While you do not need to fully remove paint before repainting, sanding helps remove any areas with weather and sun damage. Sanding also helps remove chipped or flaking paint and opens the wood pores to improve paint adhesion.

Whether you can paint over your existing paint depends on what’s on there. Most of the time, you’ll want to sand down or scrape off the paint that’s currently coating your surface. Epoxy paint, for example, won’t let new paint stick to the surface. Latex paint is more forgiving and will accept a new coat, but a primer is recommended if you’re switching colors.
