"John is a great person to work with. Very personable and easy to talk with. He gives great information and his honest opinion when you ask about different ideas. "I started the remodel myself and made a mess of a few things but Cougar Development Corp was able to repair my mistakes and give us a finished product that we can be happy to have our guests use. The vanity and shelving look amazing and the trim work done throughout is fantastic. At the end of the project I even requested caulking throughout to prepare for the paint due to my lack of equipment and they did it quickly and perfectly.

"It went well. I was pleased with the services that they provided and the plan that they came up with. I had no trouble submitting it to the city in order to obtain a permit. They were easy to work with, even coming out on Saturday or Sunday, or the evenings - whatever worked with my schedule. They are really friendly, helpful and easy to get along with. It was a great experience and I plan to go to them for some additional work that I am planning on doing."

"Steven did an awesome job on our basement. He was very professional, flexible, and most importantly his work was quality for a fair price. I would recommend Townside to a friend without hesitation."

Garages questions, answered by experts

One of the biggest disadvantages of glass garage doors is that they are not the best at insulating your garage. In the summer, heat can enter through the glass, while in the winter, heat can escape through the glass, increasing your electricity and gas bills as you crank up your HVAC unit. You can help mitigate the poorer insulation by investing in insulated glass and insulating your garage.

If you take caution around fragile garage parts, thawing methods shouldn’t cause problems. Avoid using direct sources of heat too close to the garage door, especially rubber parts.

Another spot to avoid heating is the garage door spring. This powerful metal spring can become very cold in winter. Applying heat to a cold spring increases the chances it could break.

You can prevent your garage from freezing by applying techniques like sprinkling salt onto the garage floor, installing a garage heater, shoveling snow outside the door, and more. Additional methods of preventing your garage from freezing over is to seal all potential air gaps, replace weatherstripping, and adding insulation to the surrounding walls to keep the heat from escaping.

The difference between vinyl and rubber garage door bottom seals comes down to cost, flexibility, and climate. Vinyl is the budget-friendly option, lasting well in moderate climates and resisting wear and tear. In colder climates, it can get stiff and make installation more difficult. Alternatively, rubber offers more flexibility, even in freezing temperatures, and better sticks to uneven surfaces. Rubber is more expensive but tends to be more adaptable.

Ensures adherence to local building codes and customized designs to fit personal needs.
