They got rid the not just the limbs and debris but pine straw, pine cones and also cut and weedeating around my yard. Also gave great rates for the work and future work for tree removal. Definitely recommend if you want a quality job."

Small jobs welcome

"Derrick brought in the mulch I needed within days. He and his crew are talented and dedicated, my beds were covered with 22 cubic yards. Derrick and one of his crew are also skilled at concrete and masonry, so I hired the pair to raise custom shaped and installed flag stones. I never thought I would find artisans with the skill to re-install them with the slope and fit required. They pulled it off"

"I reached out to 3 different companies all on Angieâ s List and Black Dog Stump Grinding was the only one contacted me. They were very prompt and professional returning call and showed up the same day for the quote. I hired them on the spot and they completed the work and cleaned up afterwards. I definitely recommend anyone looking for stump grinding or small tree removal to call them first."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Generally, you should prune around 20% of an apple tree’s growth—and never more than 30%. This means that if you have a severely overgrown tree, it can take a few seasons to prune it back enough to produce the healthiest fruit.

If you’re dealing with a newly planted or juvenile tree, hold off on pruning beyond the initial shaping. Wait at least a couple of seasons into fruit production since pruning can increase the number of water sprouts and unproductive foliage.

Transplanting a palm tree is a similar process except for a couple of important differences. First, their root ball doesn’t need to be as large as a “true” tree, which makes them a bit easier to dig up and move around. Second, they struggle more with taking root and staying upright in a new location, so it’s important to give them extra support when staking.

It’s possible, although a lot depends on the cause of damage and what steps you take. If the remaining parts of the maple tree are alive and not under attack by disease or pests, they can often be saved even if large portions of the maple tree have died. Frequent watering, careful pruning, mulch, and any recommended fungicides or insecticides can all help with survival.

In some states and municipalities, you will need a permit to remove a tree on your property. In many cases where permits are required, a tree must reach a maximum height before a permit is required to remove it. You can either ask your local building department or a tree removal professional if you’ll need a permit. If you do, you can expect to pay between $50 and $150 for the permit alone. Your tree removal company should pull the permit for you and include the permit fee in your total.

You may need permission to take a tree down. Check with your local ordinances about rules regarding tree removal and to gain any necessary permits. Check with your local ordinances or the fire department if you plan to burn the stump. Make sure you have all the steps in place before removing the tree, or contact a local tree removal service.
