"Extra work was performed with extra expense & not discussed with me. We eventually settled but the roof leaked in 2 separate places. They said they would fix and it was "under warranty ". At least four requests were made to "fix it". They never showed up. I had to pay $2,600 to repair their insufficient workmanship. I would never allow anyone I know to use them."

"We are very pleased with Sky Home Improvements/Ben Meffley's work and communication.  The work was done at a rental home so we really appreciate Ben's great communication and keeping us updated.  Ben sent before and after pictures.  There were a couple of things that Ben noticed on the roof that would become problems in the future.  He called explained the situation and sent pictures.  He was very straight forward and honest and sent pictures of the items he noticed.  It was nice to be able to see (from the pictures) what needed to be done for ourselves.  In the future if there is anymore work that needs to be done we would definitely call Sky Home Improvements.

You should also prime your wall before applying wallpaper and smooth the wall as much as you can, and another layer of wallpaper complicates this process.

No, you don’t need to apply paint primer to your wall before hanging paintable wallpaper. Manufacturers design paintable wallpaper so that the paint will adhere effectively, so primer isn’t necessary. Plus, even if you opt for a light shade of paint, you won’t have to worry about the shade underneath showing through because you are painting on a light, white surface.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

If you prefer peel-and-stick to traditional wallpaper, you can skip the priming process.
