"Excellent and reliable. Daniel worked very hard to finish the job and showed up on time everday. He built a deck, remodeled a lower level in our home and installed the flooring. He also painted the entire home. I would highly recommend him and would use him again."

"Discovered poor builder installation of dryer ductwork when attempting to clean out the piping. Requested quotes through Angie. Scott called me that same evening (a Sunday!) and asked if he could come the next day at 10:00am. He showed up the next day right at 10:00am, as promised, to asses the work, free of charge. He then left to grab some supplies and tools and got right to work. Fixed the problem AND cleaned out the ductwork. He worked nonstop, all day. The end result was exceptional. Scott is professional, personable and incredibly reasonable. I highly recommend him and will be using him again."

"Finished bathroom, set new toilet, installed new door. Made a door covering our new HVAC unit inside to make it easy to access for filter change. At a later date will pressure wash the vinyl siding on the outside of home.(Also repaired kitchen cabinet drawers) The work was very very nice. Very friendly.."

"James did a fantastic job on our deck. We needed to install new posts, as the old ones were not to code and beginning to deteriorate. It was the hottest day of the summer and all new posts were installed by early afternoon, and the deck above was raised a few inches back into level. The next day, tongue and groove, and new lighting was installed below the joists. The place looks like a million bucks. James was efficient, pleasant, and knew what he was doing. I would highly recommend green mountain to anyone looking to have work done on their home."

"Mark was a very efficient worker and assembled the 8 items in record time. I noticed a scratch on the table after he left. He didn’t mention it to me. I don’t know if it came from the manufacturer or not. The scratch is light but you can definitely feel it. Overall I was pleased with his work and would hire him again."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

A smoke alarm that beeps periodically, often every 30 to 60 seconds, usually indicates a low battery. The first step is to replace the battery. If this doesn't solve the problem, try resetting the alarm. However, beeping can also signal other issues, such as dust buildup in the sensors or the unit reaching the end of its life. Different beep patterns can mean different things; for example, multiple beeps might indicate an issue with a combination carbon monoxide detector, while a continuous, loud alarm means smoke has been detected. If a new battery doesn't stop the beeping, it's best to consult your alarm's manual, call a professional, or replace the unit.

You can relight a pilot light by yourself, but it’s not always the safest choice to do so. While the job is straightforward, a small mistake could end in a gas leak, fire, or explosion. That’s why we recommend everyone hire a pro for this job. Local furnace pros have lit dozens if not hundreds of pilot lights, and they’re well-versed and highly experienced in the proper safety protocols to keep you, your family, and your home safe while doing so.

To ensure the safety and longevity of your pre-fabricated fireplace, perform regular maintenance. This includes regular cleaning, checking the unit for cracks, and ensuring the venting and ventilation systems are clear and functioning properly. Additionally, scheduling professional inspections helps ensure safe operation.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, dryers and washing machines cause over 15,000 fires a year, with dryers causing about 92 percent of those fires. Because dryer fires are more common than you might think, it’s important to clear the lint trap regularly and have annual dryer vent cleanings.

No, but they both serve distinct life-saving purposes. Smoke detectors primarily sense the presence of smoke, typically caused by a fire, and emit loud alarms to alert occupants to evacuate. In contrast, carbon monoxide detectors monitor the levels of carbon monoxide gas, an odorless and colorless but deadly substance produced by incomplete combustion of fuels. When CO levels become dangerous, CO detectors sound alarms to warn inhabitants of potential poisoning risks.
