"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"

Our point of contact was Gary Courtright who did an excellent job in communicating, estimating, and coordinating the repairs and roofing shingle replacement for our rather large and expansive home in Fruit Heights, Utah, where in some years, the canyon winds through our town can exceed 100 MPH.  After 25 satisfactory years on our old roof, we contracted Kimball to complete some extensive roofing plywood repairs, re-flashing, re-membraning, and re-edging of the entire 6,000 SF roof.  Per Gary's expert advice, plus Louie and Rohojolo outstanding installation, we ended up with a very attractive and fully sealed roof that will probably last twice as long as our previous roof.  We now have a Tamko 50 year architectural shingled and ridged roof that can now withstand winds up to 150 MPH.  SUPER. JOB WELL DONE !

"The company was very prompt and professional. They were at my house to start tearing down the old roof before the material was delivered. I am recommending this company to my brother. He wants work done on his house."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Jeremy arrived when he said he would. Meticulous work ethic. Very pleasant and explained everything that he did. Wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again. We had numerous items that needed to be taken care of from an inspection on multiple properties. Jeremy was able to schedule us in quickly and fixed all items that needed to be repaired. He gave a written report of what was done to alleviate the issues and this was readily accepted by the realtor and new property owners. Thank you for such great work!"

"The installer was pleasant, skilled and professional in his work, in spite of having to work part of the time in the rain. He removed our old siding, examined all of the construction that was under the siding for any damage, and then proceeded to install the insulation (pressed foam board with foil on one side, moisture barrier on the other, and the new siding. His work was efficient and neat. Along with replacing the siding, he also capped the bottom of the siding so that insects and rodents could not get under it. He caulked all the windows, and put trim on all the corners of the house for a nice finished look. He also installed a section of rain gutter over our back porch, which we had not had before, including a downspout at the corner of the house. So nice to not have the rain dripping on our heads from the roof when we open the back door! He cleaned up any messes that were made in the course of the construction, as he went, and took it with him for disposal.
The majority of the work was completed by August 29, 2013. The installer had to return 2 or 3 weeks later to complete the last section of about one foot wide, as he ran out of materials and the company had to order more siding in the style and color that we had chosen. As soon as it was available, he made the trip out to our home and completed the job.
We have not done much price comparison, but I believe the price was fairly comparable to other similar companies. We contacted Sears prior to contacting American Home Services, and their quote was higher.
We now have an attractive home with vinyl siding and the additional insulation. We have already noticed that our house is quieter, that we can't hear outside noises as much. Also, as it is getting colder and windier, we have not felt the wind blowing inside of our house, as we did prior to the work.  Very happy with the results.

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The number of roof vents necessary for a 2,000-square-foot house depends on several factors. The calculation depends on the net free area within the attic and whether your municipality requires a 1/150 or a 1/300 ratio of venting square feet to attic square feet. If you install vents with a square-foot opening of one, you'll need either 14 or seven exhaust vents and an equal square-foot amount of intake vents.

Whether or not the terms of your roofing estimate are negotiable depends on the contractor. Some professional roofers will be willing to budge on labor fees to some extent, while others will simply walk away from the potential work rather than lower their fees. In most cases, it’s best not to negotiate the terms, as lower labor charges could lead to your contractor cutting corners. Material costs aren’t negotiable, but you could purchase them yourself to try to save on delivery fees and markups.

If your roof has storm damage, there will be some telltale signs. These include missing, loose, or damaged shingles. You may notice cracks or dents on the metal parts of your roof, like flashing, gutters, or metal panels. Water leaks are another big indicator. So are visible signs of impact. Rather than climb up on your roof to check, hire a professional to inspect the area  safely.

Many roofers remove satellite dishes as part of their services, especially during roof repairs or replacements. However, they typically won’t reconnect or reinstall the dish. If you no longer need the dish, roofers can dispose of it, but for reuse, you may need a satellite technician to handle reinstallation.

EPDM roofs have a few common problems, most of which can be resolved with regular maintenance. This type of roofing is laid down in sheets with seams, which can be a starting point for leaks. Proper installation and roof sealing can often avoid seam issues.

The material is also susceptible to tears and punctures from falling branches or other sharp objects. There are black and white versions of EPDM, and the black version is more prone to fade and succumb to UV damage. Regular roof inspections can protect the costs of rubber roof installation and extend the life of your roof.
