"One trip to determine the issues and order needed items.
Second trip to install new items, correct all shorts, punch down proper areas on jacks, label and correctly connect hard wire for phone versus internet to each room and to outside phone box. Everything fits in inside phone box too so the door closes properly. Very nice professional job, and John was pleasant and competent. How nice!"

"I would like t have had the experts name, so I could call on him again. The only thing I didnt like was there was a brand new thermostat on the wall and he changed it and took it with him, we could have used it on another furnace, it was new. Five star home services did get us another one so everything is A OK."

"I searched for a remodel contractor and Allen responded among other contractors. Allen got my remodel ideas and assembled a team of subcontractors consisting of framing, stone venire, stucco, paint, electrical and trim. He was in constant contact and got the job done done in a timely manner. Looks nice Allen. Thank you."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Drawing your own floor plans is acceptable for many kinds of projects, including interior design and room layout. You can use floor plan software to create the plans but keep in mind that the floor plan will only be as accurate as the measurements you take and enter into the software.

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.

In-law suite floor plans almost always include at least one bedroom, a bathroom, and a combination kitchen/living room area or separate spaces for the kitchen and living room. Larger in-law suites built in accessory dwelling units separate from your main structure can feature multiple bedrooms, dining rooms, and entertainment rooms in addition to the necessities.

Italianate architecture is a reinterpretation of Renaissance styles, combining elements of Italian farmhouses and villas with Victorian materials and construction. This home style emerged in the Victorian era, gaining popularity in the U.S. in the mid-to late-1800s. The style came about in response to what many then viewed as the too-rigid and stuffy Classical style designs.
