At Wilkins Landscaping, LLC we pride ourselves on providing quality service that customers can believe in. We will always see the project through to the customers' satisfaction. Call us for a free estimate and to get a landscaping professional out to your home today!

"Ben and Elias were exactly what I hoped for in a sprinkler repair service. - I didn't have to deal with scheduling online or "your service window is between 2:00 and 5:00". - Ben explained the situation and answered my questions. - Took care of what was broken and didn't take care of the other stuff that I thought was broken that wasn't (this is always my biggest tell on a trustworthy tradesman). - They were happy to fix up a few other small sprinkler head issues I had. - Charged me by the hour - minus drive time plus the actual price of parts ($26) - not off a convoluted flow chart of prices and discounts on a fancy iPad. - Sealed the deal with a handshake and a receipt, not a 3-page contract and disclaimer (if that ends up biting me, I'll revisit this review)"

"Warning! These guys have no business landscaping. 1. They made no suggestions as to rock that has been good. 2. I gave them a large roll of landscaping fabric and gave it to them to help get a great job. They never offered to discount my job, or just pay me for something they would have to have, anyway. 3. The pea gravel I wanted was awful! That's my problem. It easily ends up on everything around it. 4. No edging was installed that would certainly help keep the rocks in place. 5. When spring came around, you would NEVER know there was fabric to block the weeds. The same weeds I needed to get rid of were thriving at every edge of the fabric. 6. I checked out how the fabric was laid and they overlapped ONLY ONE (1") INCH!!!! Even my mother knows the overlap should be at least 4"! I feel stupid that they didn't know how to install rocks, but I didn't know they aren't landscapers. Oh, yeah, they didn't have box knives to cut the fabric. I loaned them 2 of mine. I neither was returned to me. I feel this is a $2000 BIG mistake due to incompetence on both sides. By-the-way, I hired a different landscaper to make a beautiful backyard. "Rico's." They took A LOT of time to make sure the contract is understood by both parties. I asked a lot of questions and they made sure to get us on the same page. This was done in July 2023, but there they were doing a fabulous yard. The crew is actually husband and wife and he does 95% of the tough work. She works with customers and keeps the business going. Well, I was so stupid to hire young boys who have no experience. Sheri Young Salt Lake City, UT"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

When starting the engine, you typically leave the choke on a snowblower in the "choke" or "closed" position. After starting, let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up. Then, gradually open the choke, moving it to the "open" or "run" position, allowing more air into the engine and transitioning to a normal fuel-air mixture. The exact duration varies based on the snowblower model and ambient temperature, but as a general rule, you should open the choke once the engine has stabilized and runs smoothly, typically within a few minutes.

Yes, but it works best with lightweight snowblowers, the single-stage models or electric versions. Also, you need to have a rubberized intake edge on the ground and preferably rubberized auger paddles, not a metal version. Otherwise you may chip or damage the surface as you work. When it doubt, let the snow lie.

You can also use a snow blower on leveled gravel, but only if you carefully adjust the intake height so it doesn’t kick up the gravel and turn it into flying missiles.

Yes, many providers offer emergency services during severe weather. Confirm availability with your contractor.

In most cases, it’s worth it to pay for professional snow removal. You can shovel the snow yourself, but it’s very labor-intensive and puts you at risk of injury or illness by performing exhausting manual labor in slippery conditions. Paying a professional removes that risk and saves you time and energy. Depending on your agreement, you could wake up to a cleared driveway and a car that’s ready to drive rather than have to get up early to do the work yourself.

There are several ways to remove snow from your roof: using a snow rake, salting the roof with calcium chloride, using a rope (cautiously), and using heating cables. It’s important to mention that pretty, fluffy, sparkling snow weighs a great deal, and when physically removing snow from a roof, you should be aware of large snow slabs breaking off. These can weigh hundreds of pounds and are a real danger, so be extremely careful anytime you’re doing this type of work.
