"Krupa did a great job on replacing a section of a walkway as well as skim coating front entry steps. He provided terrific customer service and kept in contact with me along the way. I highly recommend him if you need concrete work or masonry repair. His price was very reasonable."

Customers say: Quality work

"Moala Brother's Construction really did an exceptional job. They ripped out our old existing driveway and replaced it in record time. Their project manager Levi was friendly and informative, and educated us on our existing driveway issues (unlevel, and descending toward our house foundation). He assured us when they were finished, when it rained the rain water would drain away from our house (it rained hard this last weekend and Levi was right, the new driveway keeps the rain moving away from the house. What a relief). We are very happy with how careful they were with their tractor and equipment while they worked very close to our carport that attaches to our garage. We have already recommended them to family and friends who have thought about getting cement work done in the near future. If we could give them more than 5 stars we would."

"Ben was very professional on my concrete repair work. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. I asked him to take care of the city permit process and it went so smoothly. He was able to complete my project ahead of schedule and right on budget. I would definitely recommend him for all concrete related work."

"The job went very well. We were pleased with the quality and price. Good Samaritan Landscaping, Fred and his crew were very professional and got the job completed within the time frame proposed. They also were able save us a lot money on the main water line repair after a plumbing company quoted us over $4,500 for work that was not necessary. I highly recommend Good Samaritan Landscaping for their honesty, good work ethic, and excellent workmanship."

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

Not all cracks in the basement floor signal foundation problems. As the house settles, you’ll notice very thin hairline cracks, which you don’t need to worry about. Cracks that are 1/8 inch or wider should require sealing, while ones that are 1/2 inch or wider require leveling. However, if you have cracks in your basement floor with heaving, you should call a pro to assess the situation. Heaving can lead to uneven flooring, structural issues, and foundation problems.

Foundation cracks that are 1/8 inch wide or less, aren’t uneven across the gap, and don’t continue widening over time are usually just normal settling cracks and don’t suggest structural issues. Horizontal cracks and stair-step cracks on foundation walls, any cracks that continue widening, are wider than 1/8 inch, or where one side juts out beyond the other, are often indicative of structural damage.

Yes. Water can penetrate through a concrete foundation wall. This can happen whether or not you have cracks, as concrete is a porous material. You’ll want to take steps to waterproof your basement or crawl space.

Yes. Foundation walls are always load-bearing.

Minor hairline cracks in your concrete may not look pretty, but they’re often not serious. It’s when concrete cracks are larger—wide enough that you can slide a credit card into it—that you need to worry. If you monitor a crack and can trace its active expansion over time, you’ll definitely want to call in a pro to inspect it and, potentially, repair it. Want to prevent cracks in your garage and driveway concrete in the future? Stay on top of sealing. Here’s how to seal your concrete garage floor and driveway.
