"David and his crew Ives, Victor, and Joseph did a fantastic job stabilizing our foundation. They were focused on the job and came prepared to work. They finished the job quickly and professionally. They communicated with us throughout the entire process. Once they got into the project they were able to identify areas that didn't require the repairs and David quickly explained a new plan and then, with my permission, adjusted the plan which saved us several thousand dollars. I appreciated their honesty and integrity. Thank you Groundworks for training and hiring quality people. Dennis and Ellen Porter"

"Krupa did a great job on replacing a section of a walkway as well as skim coating front entry steps. He provided terrific customer service and kept in contact with me along the way. I highly recommend him if you need concrete work or masonry repair. His price was very reasonable."

Customers say: Quality work

"Moala Brother's Construction really did an exceptional job. They ripped out our old existing driveway and replaced it in record time. Their project manager Levi was friendly and informative, and educated us on our existing driveway issues (unlevel, and descending toward our house foundation). He assured us when they were finished, when it rained the rain water would drain away from our house (it rained hard this last weekend and Levi was right, the new driveway keeps the rain moving away from the house. What a relief). We are very happy with how careful they were with their tractor and equipment while they worked very close to our carport that attaches to our garage. We have already recommended them to family and friends who have thought about getting cement work done in the near future. If we could give them more than 5 stars we would."

"Sione and all of his crew were extremely professional and performed superior work. They removed a very badly heaving, sinking, cracking and spalling driveway and walkway. Many neighbors have commented on how nice the driveway looks. Sione also investigated and identified a problem with a footer that was sinking that supported the roof over a patio. Sione devised a plan and installed a new footer, filled voids under the concrete patio, and replaced two basement stairs and a sinking drain pad. If you want quality work that is performed to the HIGHEST STANDARD then hire Sione and Jay Concrete. Sione always keep us informed when work would be completed and if there were or might be delays"

"I’ve used Good Samaritan Landscaping and Concrete multiple times to perform work at my house, and they have always done impressive work. Fred, the owner of Good Samaritan, is an excellent, licensed and insured, landscaping contractor and he and his crew did amazing work at a fair price for all of the work that he has done for me. I especially appreciate the time that Fred takes to consult his customers on the work that he can provide. He clearly explains what he is going to do and has great tips for things that you can do to make your yard much nicer and easier to maintain. A few of the jobs that Fred has done for me: new concrete, curbing, repairing drainage issues, sod leveling for low spots in my lawn, sod removal for a garden area (including new garden box installation and soil fill), sprinkler repair/installation, and excavation work. Fred came by today to give me another consultation on work that I need done this spring, including installing/excavating for an in-ground trampoline. Fred has also done complete landscaping installs for new construction homes in my neighborhood, and continues to get a lot of business in my neighborhood just from word-of-mouth referrals. I would highly recommend him for any landscaping work, and he is a pleasure to work with."

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

It’s usually not a big deal if your foundation sinks between 2 and 3 inches into the ground after construction, provided the settlement occurs evenly. This is usually indicative of normal settlement that occurs as the soil under your home adapts to the weight of the structure. If the home sinks more into the ground or the settlement occurs unevenly, leaving portions of your home to sink further down than others, then call a foundation repair specialist to address the issue and avoid additional damage.

Yes, thicker concrete is less likely to crack. The thicker the concrete is, the less susceptible it is to extreme changes in weather conditions that often cause concrete to crack or chip. If you’re unable to install a thicker concrete driveway for any reason, you can also ask your professional to install more rebar or wire mesh to provide greater strength and better resilience to damage.

Efflorescence can damage a concrete slab for two to three years. After that, it resolves on its own once the surrounding salts are gone.

You could DIY the work, but unless you have plumber’s knowledge for identifying and fixing a slab leak and specialized equipment in your tool shed, attempting to DIY your slab leak repair isn’t a good idea. It’s simply not something that the average homeowner can take on themselves, regardless of how many successful DIY projects they’ve got under their belt. You could, however, do something simple like foundation waterproofing yourself to save some money on the post-repair work.

Tree roots don’t necessarily break through concrete on their own, but they can certainly take advantage of existing cracks, even very small ones. As roots grow, they expand the cracks, making them larger and leading to serious and costly foundation damage. It’s a good idea to have repairs on any foundation cracks you’re concerned about.
