"He was very quick and clean, and didn't ask me to pay a cent more for the service!  He was honest and took pictures of our chase cover which was in need or repair, but he said it wasn't an emergent replacement, jut something to replace soon.  Gave me a quote for that which seemed very reasonable.  Overall very good service, and he even gave my son a chimney sweep coloring book!

Costs depend on stone type, surface condition, labor, and whether sealing or deep cleaning is required.

You may need to replace drywall because of smoke damage. If the drywall is covered in soot, you may be able to clean it, but it will require a lot of time and effort. You could spend hours cleaning the drywall only to find there is more damage and it needs to be replaced anyway. It’s usually easier and safer to remove the smoke-damaged drywall and replace it.

DIY cleanup is not recommended due to hazardous soot, odors, and potential structural issues.

Smoke can be tricky to remove from your home, especially after a fire. The best way to eliminate the smell is to open the windows to increase ventilation and air circulation in your house. Then, use white vinegar to wipe down walls, furniture, and floors. Try steam-cleaning carpet and other upholstered items to remove the smell of smoke.

Yes, professionals use specialized treatments to remove smoke odors and improve indoor air quality.
