"We would give Cody 10 Stars if they were available. He has installed two paver patios for us and our experience with the first prompted the second. On time; responsive; responsible and a true artisan who takes the time necessary to do it right the first time. Plus, his price was reasonable and he’s super easy to get along with. He will be our first choice for any work that is within the scope of what Aspired Custom Creations does."

"This Father and Son team worked together so seamlessly! They are the only ones who showed up immediately in person to do the estimate. Everyone else did via text with a pic I sent them. They started the next day and were were always on time and spent extra time detailing things, and making sure everything looked perfect! This job was not easy due to the location up against hedges and dealing with large roots! Their pricing was also more reasonable and they were a joy to work with! I would highly recommend Molina Concrete Solutions!"

"Showed up on time. Let you know everything he was doing. Was able to install drain system. Did a good job of sloping and finishing . Very personable. Hard worker. Didnâ t stand around or take breaks. Was able to finish in a relatively short amount of time considering having to remove and haul 25,000 lbs of old patio concrete."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. Other regions may have a maximum of 12%, 15%, or 18%, so check with your local building department to ensure you’re laying a driveway that is up to code for your location.

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.

Recycled asphalt is not better than gravel, but can be a good alternative. It is inexpensive, but not as low-cost as gravel, and doesn’t tend to last as long. Recycled asphalt isn’t as dusty as gravel and is more environmentally friendly. The black look can be something that homeowners prefer. No matter what, ensure you choose an experienced recycled asphalt contractor.

In terms of durability, concrete driveways can last more than 50 years when properly maintained, compared to the typical 30 years for an asphalt driveway. However, the durability depends on the climate, base material and thickness, and thickness of the concrete or asphalt used. The longevity of concrete or asphalt driveways also depends on how well it’s maintained and the amount of wear and tear it endures.
