"The project went exactly according to plan. The cables were run through the walls and now they aren't visible in my living room. Everything looks amazing and it sounds even better."

"PhilmGear was and continues to be a great company to work with. We used them to get us set up with an outdoor projection system for summer movies and the like. They listened to our desires and worked within our budget to get the best value and quality that fit our constraints. Iâ ve recommended them to several neighbors and would recommend them to anyone."

"Cransten is the greatest. This is the first time I ever mounted a tv on a wall but I can't imagine it would go any better. Steve was very helpful with the process. He was very thorough and courteous. I will use this company again in the near future and you should as well."

"My elderly dad unknowingly became a victim of scammers who installed malware on his computer (Trojan Horse, among other things). When my dad asked me for help, I turned to Mike. Mike is someone I had used 10+ years ago for a similar problem I had with my own computer. Mike had my dad's computer sorted out with a minimum of fuss and with utmost professionalism. I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again and would highly recommend him if you're having similar issues."

"Another company came out to inspect and take samples to send to the lab. It was Feb. That company told me that the lab report meant I needed mold remediation right away. When Bryce of PuriCloud heard the lab numbers, he said I did not need remediation, even though I already had an estimate from his company. He even did an on-sight visible inspection and still said I did not need remediation. Because I have been diagnosed with toxic mold syndrome, I will hire him to come back in May, when the spores are active outside to do an air quality test to be sure. If I could give 10 stars, I would. It is so refreshing to see such honesty in a service company. - Kitty S. in Winchester, VA"

Tv Mount Install questions, answered by experts

The shorter the coaxial cable, the better. The further you run the cable, the more signal loss you'll experience. At 50 feet, you'll see significant signal loss, and by 100 feet, you'll experience at least a 30% drop in signal strength.

Determining if mounting a TV on the wall or mounting it on a stand is better boils down to personal preference. TV mounts are an excellent choice for homes that have limited space, unruly dogs, or young children. They also allow you to customize the height and viewing angle more easily. At the same time, mounting a TV on an entertainment center stand offers additional storage space, a place to hide the wires, and fewer holes in the wall. Renters may also have limitations on drilling holes into the wall above certain diameters.

Costs range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on system complexity and components.

It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Studs are much stronger than drywall and quite a bit stronger than drywall anchors but, if you can’t find the studs or there simply aren’t any where you need them, you can use drywall anchors. It’s extremely important to make sure the anchors are rated for the load of the TV. We recommend using anchors that are rated far beyond the weight of whatever you’re hanging. Our suggestion is metal drywall toggle anchors.

Yes, you can mount a TV on plaster walls—as long as you attach it to the studs. Alternatively, you can use toggle bolts, molly bolts, or another type of hardware that’s strong enough to support a TV.

If you aren’t comfortable with this type of project, you can hire a pro. The cost of mounting a TV to a plaster wall ranges from $25 to $600 (or more), depending on the TV’s weight, size, and other factors.
